Edmunds and Company Log Home Restorations

Everything about our experience with Edmunds and Company was great, starting with the initial, very timely communications in identifying what we were looking to have done, thru to the end with a very capable and pleasant work crew. The work site was well cared for and I appreciated their attention to assuring that the final stain color and entire project was what we were looking for. The cabin looks great again, thanks to Edmunds efforts. I expect to continue to use their services in the future.

Very apparent they were good at what they did, cared about the product and were easy to talk to. Matt was responsive, helpful, honest and fair. We are rating Edmunds & Company 5-Stars (out of 5 Stars) for the restoration project they just completed on our 25-yr. old log cabin located on a lake in NW Wisconsin. The log exteriors had mildew and were turning black, the deck railings were rotting and several exterior logs needed to be replaced due to rot. The cabin looks like new once again (we are the original owners). Matt and his work crews were professional, courteous, efficient and a pleasure to work with. Throughout it was a very positive experience working with Edmunds & Co. and the end result totally met our expectations! We recently had our 1938 log home restored by Edmunds and Company. The experience was excellent, customer service flawless, communication excellent, crew unbelievably polite and helpful and the results better than we had hoped. Matt checked in with us, managed our expectations every step of the way. Definitely 5 star service and results. They replaced many rotten logs, completely removed the old concrete chinking and replaced with new product. They were artists in their work. Very messy job but they cleaned up. Can't say enough and highly recommend.

In 1996, my wife and I purchased a dilapidated log lodge/cabin on Lake Nancy in NW Wisconsin. In 1997, Pete Edmunds, (Matt’s father) and his crew spent weeks doing a complete restoration to that cabin, much to our complete satisfaction. Rotted logs were replaced, new logs added, chinking, and major structural improvements were done. We were very pleased with the results.Fast forward almost 20 years… Weather and time caused some minor issues with the exterior of our cabin and we found out that Matt Edmunds had continued in his dad’s footsteps. Edmunds and Company was still restoring logs homes. As per our request, Matt came out to our cabin, surveyed the areas of concern and gave us an estimate on the repairs needed.As promised, a crew arrived and completed the work in a timely and professional manner. They were friendly, knowledgeable, explained any procedures they performed and, answered any questions we asked. The logs repaired (and replaced) look as if they were the original logs put there over one hundred years ago!Our cabin, once again, looks great. My husbands and my dream was to retire and purchase a log home. We found our log home in north west Wisconsin and brought Matt into do a pre purchase inspection (which I highly recommend). The inspection opened the window for us to see what was ahead for us as far as home condition and the cost to bring the home up to date. After purchasing our home Matt stayed with us from start to finish which was blasting, crown and log replacement and staining. Matt and his crew made what could have been a bad experience a very good one by consulting us through each phase of the project and educating us on the future care of our log home. This is truly an A+ quality company. Every member of the Edmund's team is a both a great person as well as skilled at their craft. Susan in the office is super helpful. Mark and Ryan on the sandblasting crew were amazing and instructive. Jesse was a great guiding influence and his restoration crew (Jed, Jafra, and Ryan) did awesome work with their chainsaws. Matt is easy to work with, knowledgeable, and experienced. We bought a log home that needed refinishing and had compromised logs due to weather and moisture. Our initial experience with Edmunds was a frustrating one. We waited a long time to get anyone to respond to our inquiries. But in the final analysis, it was worth the wait. The company did a wonderful job replacing logs and chinking our two 1940’s log homes. The women & men who worked on our cabins were professional, that is to say they were knowledgeable, efficient, and skilled craftspeople. And personable and friendly as well. We would and have recommended them to our neighbors who own log structures in the Chequamegon National Forest.
