Should be completely ashamed of themselves. You call for basic information - for one conversation - they ask you to hold, and then no one ever returns... no hold music either, just dead air for an hour, so someone's basically putting the phone down to try to outlast the waiting caller. Completely unacceptable; never turning to these people again, for even the most bare minimum services.Get back to me when you're done hiring mouthbreathers.

I went there to turn in a missing dog I found and fostered for a night. I was heartbroken to give her away. She was injured and from my eyes her injury seem completely curable. I called to ensure that if I brought her there she wouldn’t be misjudged and put down for no reason. The first thing they told me is that if they deem her incurable, they would euthanize her. This brought me no comfort, unsympathetic when I went to turn her in. I broke down crying in front of staff because I was scared they would hurt her, a very sweet pit bull. They did not care. No offer of comfort or security that she would be okay. Very stoic, and I have a hard time believing that they genuinely care. Granted, that’s not their job but there is no sense of above and beyond here. It is inhumane the way they keep that horse pent up in that small cage in the dead of winter. Ironic for its name. I literally cannot imagine what it must look like on the inside. I hope they keep my foster baby alive and treat her kindly until shes adopted. Otherwise, if ever I’m in the same situation, I will only bring her to Lollypop farm regardless of where I found her. They seemed more helpful and empathetic towards me anyways.Save your time, take your found dog to Lollypop farm if you truly care.

I’ve called 47 times today I got put on hold 5 times for 20 minutes each time then hung up on. We wanted to adopt two pets and yet can’t get them to answer so I guess we won’t be adopting with them. What a shame

We’ve adopted in the past from this shelter and our experience was a positive one. We had to put down our 10 year old feline and we went again to Verona to adopt. We found a 1 year old who seemed like a good fit for our home. Upon visiting with her she was a little hissy and scared but the young lady in the visiting room told us she’d been working with her and it’s just the environment she’s in. When we went to pick her up we were told she had an eye infection handed drops and that was it. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect what would happen next!! It was impossible to get the eye drops in. Also her new vet appointment was 6 weeks out as it was almost impossible to get a appointment. My wife had gotten a pretty bad bite requiring antibiotic trying to give her eye drops.. This poor girl was never properly socialized and it was so hard to get her to adapt . She would be so very sweet one moment then flip and bite and scratch you. Even any visitors to our home were greeted then clawed. So very sad that we were told nothing about her behavioral problems. Unfortunately we had to surrender her back to the shelter after 3 weeks of trying to get her to adjust. Our hearts are broken as she needed more then we knew how to give

I have a young cat from this shelter. Cat was well mannered, well fed, clean and affectionate. Obviously well cared for here. I had her spayed, staff were polite and concerned about the pets.
