Brantford Childrens Urgent Walk-In Clinic
Took my daughter here on Friday. The receptionist was really lovely and kind. Quick booking, and no waiting around to see a doctor. The doctor came in and assessed my daughter. He was kind and gentle. My baby was really sick for a week and this doctor thankfully prescribed some antibiotics. My daughter is finally feeling much better now. I would highly recommend.

Both the Receptionist and the Dr at this urgent care have always been very kind, quick and helpful. This Dr detected a heart murmur (unrelated to our visit) that our family Dr did not catch and we are so grateful. From flu vaccinations, advice and prescriptions we have been very lucky to have their swift medical advice and care here in Brantford.

If I could post 0 stars I would!Receptionist was late opening the doors then dealt with phone calls over the lineup standing in-front of her.The doctor at this clinic was rude and dismissive. He would not turn toSpeak to me but kept his back turned and was on his computer. I outlined twice I was having trouble hearing him due to his masks and facing the other way.The doctor sent my daughter and I to the HOSPITAL saying her chest was tight and her oxygen was critically low. When we arrived at BGH we were sent home because all vitals and oxygen were completely fine!Upon arriving home - I received a phone call from the Clinic asking to speak to my daughters Father.I am a single Mom of years so I found this odd.I was then questioned if we went to the hospital… and when I outlined what happened it was met with “ok.” Then was hung up on.I will Absolutely NEVER return here!!!Terrible service. Terrible doctor and Very VERY DISRESPECTFUL FOLLOW-UP!

Unfortunately I will not be returning to this clinic. Been a few times very worried about my son, and everytime the experience is worse and a waste of my time. My son had a clear eye infection and a very bad cough. As I walked into the office, I was asked if I've been there before and I said yes. The receptionist rudely said well if you dont walk through those doors without a mask we will not see you next time". Yes i got the medication I needed for my son

Friday, January 20, 2023On Wednesday January 11, 2023 our 3 year old granddaughter started to come down with an ear infection saying her ear hurt. By Friday January 13 2023 she really wasn’t well at all so my daughter took our granddaughter to a child’s clinic in Oakville. There the Dr didn’t really check out our granddaughter’s ear or anything. Just took mom’s word on how things were and what was happening. The Dr there prescribed antibiotics. On the weekend she seemed to have no change in the way she was feeling and things did not improve even with the antibiotics. So on Monday January 16 2023 my daughter brought our granddaughter to me to have for the day because she wasn’t well. During the day while I was watching her, mom called me to check in on her. I told her what I noticed and suggested that she take her back to the clinic. So my daughter said that she planned on it. But because my daughter works in Brantford she decided to take her to the children’s walk in clinic in town. This children’s walk in clinic is located at 225 Fairview Dr in Brantford. It was here where Dr Allen Mkondo examined our granddaughter. He told our daughter that she needed to rush our 3 year old granddaughter to McMaster children’s hospital right away. Upon Dr Mkondo’s examination he noticed an infection that had gone beyond an ordinary ear infection. He told our daughter that this is now a serious infection that it has gone into the bone and is dangerously close to going into her brain. This Dr Mkondo saved our 3 year old granddaughters life. She has been in the hospital on IV antibiotics, and has had to have surgery to remove to infection from her ears. This could have had dire consequences if our daughter had not taken our precious granddaughter to see Dr Mkondo. If there is a parent who needs to take their child to a clinic this is the place to go. Our daughter said that she would not hesitate to take our granddaughter back to this clinic if needed at anytime for any reason. My family and I thank you Dr Mkondo from the bottom of all of our hearts for the work you do and for saving our granddaughters life.Kim

I took my daughter to the Urgent Walk In yesterday. We were quick to be seen which was nice and the receptionist was very kind. But the Dr we seen which he didn't introduce us with his name, had terrible bedside manners. He was rolling his eyes as if we were an inconvenience being there that point blank, I had to ask him if WE were wasting his time.He was not welcoming at all, for working at a children's urgent care clinic.....Aside from this, he checked my daughters ears, throat, chest and back and didn't find anything, and asked that we go to the ER in Paris ON. To have the Dr there also check her chest to find out she is fighting bronchitis. Not impressed and moving forward will be going straight to the Willett hospital fornany urgent matters.Very disappointed.**EDIT responding to the unprofessional response from this horrid medical facility who is disclosing personal information. I am reporting this immediately to CPSO.The Dr" here referred us to the ER. As well as telehealth. However my family Dr recommended going here instead. This Dr here told us nothing was wrong with our daughter but to get a urinalysis and bloodwork done. He checked her chest

I'd give 0 stars if that was an option. My son just finished antibiotics for strep throat prescribed by our family dr but he wasn't fully better. I brought him here for the first (and last time) when our family dr wasn't available. This dr had a terrible bedside manner for someone working with children. He criticized our family dr for prescribing antibiotics claiming his throat was fine. Son came in with a fever, complaining of his throat hurting, not eating/drinking/speaking much. They gave him oral tylenol which he immediately threw up (and I cleaned up). The dr concluded he is very ill and needs to go to the hospital right away its urgent, forced me to pick between bgh/mac. I said mac. They faxed mac claiming we'd be seen right away. Dr however did not share his concerns beyond its urgent (if I knew his concerns I would have went elsewhere as I did not agree). 7hrs at McMaster to see a Dr. Clearly not urgent. Dr there shared that the Dr at Fairview Children's Urgent care thought my son had Meningitis, she said simply looking at him for 30sec that's clearly not the case. I said sorry to waste your time (and my two boys) if I knew what that Dr thought that I wouldn't have come here. He did have a red throat. Swab came back positive the next day for strep and he is now on antibiotics (prescribed that day). Shame on Fairview Urgent Care this could have easily been handled in 20min in your office. Instead you made this single mama worry for no reason, my children wasted their whole day 10:30am-8:30pm and the valuable time of hospital staff, $50+ spent on parking/food as it was so urgent we go there. Parents: trust your instincts, he had the exact thing I thought, steer clear of this place. As I said, first and last time we will EVER go there.

This place is awful. I gave birth to my daughter at BGH and we are quite new to Brantford and my OB said they would get her a doctor when I delivered...that wasn't exactly the case but the nurse said I could go to this clinic in the mean time. I can't remember the doctor's name (older, African man), but even the NURSE made a face at me when talking about him as if to imply he isn't good. The receptionist was super disorganized. She looked completely lost. She also didn't weigh my baby which the doctor got upset with her for. Firstly I couldn't understand a thing the doctor was saying, he doesn't speak clearly at all. Secondly he kept pressing me as to why I'm not breastfeeding. Is that a joke? I'm not there to discuss why she isn't breastfeeding and I wasn't about to explain why. It got to a point where I just didn't respond to him anymore about it. He was acting as though her entire issue was not being breastfed. Thank God I went with my instincts and returned to my son's pediatrician in Toronto with her. It's a long drive and as another doctor at BGH told me, I shouldn't have to travel like that...but clearly this clinic showed me...I do!

I have gone here a few times mostly with my daughter because I can NEVER get in at the family dr walk in. They are fast and listen to what you have to say which is really nice. The Dr is professional and gentle and kid with the sick kids. The receptionist is kind and welcoming. I have never waited more then 30 mins and that’s with a full room of people. They call you personally with test results and ask how the child is doing. By far the best children’s clinic I have been to in years!!!!

The doctor called Allen that we saw in this clinic was very rude. He treated us like dogs. Didn’t even look at me and when I asked questions about my daughter’s condition, he was so impatient. Allen, we are not asking you any favor. Just treat humans like humans and care more about parents concerns. Worst experience I’ve had in my life and will never go back again.
