They're not scamming you, they just don't hire authenticators so they don't know if the stuff they're accepting is real or fake.Their commission is 50% (higher than the 40% at most places), so they definitely have real stuff too. If you aren't good at inspecting, just don't get super popular items that are most likely to be faked.

If I could give zero stars I would. Don’t go there or support this store. They sell fake designer items, offer rude and condescending service. Save yourselves people.

First, I walked in and said hello to the woman working there and she didn't say anything back. She seemed to be watching me very closely as I looked around but still didn't say anything, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Then after I expressed interest in a specific designer, she started aggressively trying to sell me an authentic" pair of shoes that I easily proved to be fake

Didn't even get off square 1! Called to ask about how to consign with this store and a woman with an eastern European accent answered. At first she was very presumptuous saying the store only deals with women's fashion because she heard a male voice. Then she bluntly asked what I have available. Then she asked what brand. When given the name of a premium jeans brand she didn't even recognize it and just mumbled she doesn't know. She seemed very uninterested in talking and when she did her tone was quite rude and indifferent. At least no gas and time was wasted going to the store in person to inquire.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience at this store. My younger cousin purchased a $300 pair of Balenciaga shoes that upon further inspection, were clearly fake. After going to Balenciaga and having the store associates confirm they were fake (incorrect weight, missing labels, incorrect font) we attempted to return them. The store owner is the rudest, most unsympathetic person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Not only did she laugh when she was told they were fake, but dismissed every thing we pointed out about the shoes that proved they were fake. She claimed clients have NEVER asked for an authentication slip for any of her items and unless we had an official letter from Balenciaga there was “nothing she could do” - are you kidding me?!This woman is scamming well-intentioned customers who want to support small businesses and is marking up fake designer for 50 times the price. My younger cousin was left in tears and I was left in absolute disbelief that someone could just take advantage of others like that and hide under their no returns policy. Oh well, as the owner told us “today you learned a lesson”

I usually never leave negative reviews, but I felt that for this particular establishment, it would be completely irresponsible of me to not share my story. I hope that with this in mind, I could prevent future customers from making the same mistake I did.I was walking around after finishing my morning shift. I'm an avid thrifter and was super excited to check out Second Look. I realized quickly after entering that it was not your regular thrift store. It ran on a consignment system and it was primarily designer goods that were being sold. Regardless of it being a second hand store, I did not really want to spend my hard earned money on anything there - until I spotted a pair of designer shoes that I had my eyes on for a long time.I was so excited. They were just my size and for such a fair price compared to the regular sale price of these shoes. I asked the shop owner countless times if they were authentic and she responded each time assuring me they were real. Maybe it was stupid of me to trust her blindly without authenticating them, but I always believe the best in people, especially someone running a store with a primary focus on designer brands. She also kept encouraging me to complete the purchase.A few days later, I start getting suspicious. It felt too good to be true. I get in touch with the huge department store downtown that sells the model first hand and the shop owner could immediately tell they were fake because of several factors.I return asking for a refund because I have been clearly lied to, and although I understand that thrift stores typically do not accept returns, this case should have been accepted. The owner completely did a 180 on me, kept insisting that they were real and in such a disrespectful tone. Completely gaslit me and stated how I should have learned my lesson". Absolutely ridiculous.I will keep fighting forward until I get my return. For now

The store owner pressured me into a sale of a skirt that was too large, saying I could sew it. Her sales approach was to offer me $400 from $550 (her original price ) also claiming the original price from Holt Renfrew was $1600. Later I called and the Holts clerk confirmed the sale price to be$148, as the item was no longer in stock they could not provide the original price but guessed it was approx $600. The store owner rudely told me consignment is no returns and laughed at me and was firm on her NO RETURN or EXCHANGE policy. I even offered to take an exchange as perhaps she didn’t know the pricing was so inflated and unfair from her consigner. I requested her to make this right and consider how a positive experience is better business and a $400 purchase should feel good. She started yelling at me, claiming her no return policy was fair, and got very angry and was rude. She was very charming when she was selling me the skirt and very quickly changed when she no longer could benefit from me. I would not recommend shopping here .The photos below show one online price I found on another site as Holt Renfrew no longer stocks item, their system does however pull up the style and last price on their in-house computer system.

The window display caught my eye, so I stopped in. Fabulous selection of gently used luxury goods. Operator was helpful and informative. Great spot to find that unique work of art.

This is the most confusing shopping experience I ever had. Everything in this store is extremely expensive and super messy at the same time. Is like to browse a very cheap thrift store but is worse. The store is clogged with stuff, aisles are quite narrow, the service is a bit rude... well I think you got the point: don’t go there!

It's just women's clothes and who knows? It might say that in the add. I have no idea but I was at the hospital with my mom Spelled coffee all over myself. Dam you starbucks But anyways i'm from Out of town So I walked all the way to the shop and the woman wouldn't even let me in the door. She came right to the door and basically said. I couldn't come in and then lock the door behind her. I'm on my way to value village now l o l
