Bad Bones Ramen
This was my first time at Bad Bones Ramen, located in downtown St. John’s and it did not disappoint!! We had the Chicken Gyoza dumplings as an appetizer and the pork belly ramen and miso chicken ramen.. both so flavourful and delicious! I can’t wait to visit again! I only managed to take one picture after I had already taken a few bites.. it was too good to wait! lol

Service and atmosphere was good! The ramen I had was tasty but I think there was too much kimchi in it. In the end, it did not taste like much anything else even though I chose kimchi because I like it, it was overpowering. The ramen was full of good things in it like different vegetables and pickles. I liked that. Also the thin noodles were very good. I couldn't really taste the shrimps though.I'm someone who eats lots of ramen so I think it is just a preference in my case. You should definitely go to this unique and tasteful restaurant if you haven't tried it.

Nice chill atmosphere, tasty drinks, and I enjoyed the veggie tempura and egg add-on. I want to like it, but the ramen broth is just okay for the price. On the cold day I visited, the room was wear-your-coat-indoors chilly.

Awesome food. Looked delicious and tasted amazing too! I had the fried chicken curry and the flavours were sooo good. and the ramen eggs were awesome aswell as the chicken (super crunchy) We also had the chicken dumplings for a side and even they were really good. deffinitely reccomend, and doesnt even compare to instant ramen lol.

We went to Bad Bones last week for lunch and I was disappointed. I thought $20 for a bowl of soup was a bit pricey but every restaurant in St. John’s seems to be pricey! (If you are a tourist and plan to visit for more than a few days I suggest renting lodging that has a kitchenette.)I’m allergic to mushrooms and I asked the server to check re: the miso used in their soups, as often miso is mushroom based, but rice miso is mushroom-free. She seemed a bit peeved at my questions giving me “a look” that clearly indicated how she was feeling.I ordered a chicken ramen soup and when it came it looked lovely. The broth was hot and tasty but the chicken was not very hot and I wondered if the chef put cold chicken in the soup. Also the chicken was over cooked and tasted like it had been in the refrigerator too long. Yuck! The other ingredients were corn niblets, raw julienned carrot and green onion and ramen that was undercooked. I thought the corn was weird and I would have preferred the carrot to be grated rather than julienned because it would have not been so obviously raw and it would have lended itself nicely to the soup had it been grated. My partner had a pork belly ramen soup with a pickled (?) egg. He thought the pork was nice but he questioned the combination of ingredients in his soup saying that each individual ingredient was good but all together in the soup didn’t seem to work. Our server came over near to the end of our meal to ask us how it was. I didn’t say anything to her about it because she just had a few negative words between her and the chef and we could tell she was not going to reign in her negativity so she could be more pleasant with us.In the end we knew she had a bad day as do we all at times, but if you are annoyed with customers as soon as they are seated…It just wasn’t a pleasant experience.

Nice place. The environment in calm and chilling. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Very good service and attention to detail. The prices are very reasonable considering the portion size. I would recommend this place for a weekly dinner out or even a romantic date.

Bad Bones Ramen
Great Ramen, cool trendy vibe and great service. Was very surprised to see something like this in Newfoundland but I was blown away. The food was top tier and the staff were friendly. Next time I drop by St John's I'll be trying to return here to get my ramen fix

Bad Bones Ramen
Exceeded my expectations. We ordered the Pork Tantanmen and Pork Belly Shoyu. Both had plenty of pork and a good amount of noodles and vegetables. Also added the homemade hot sauce which was sweet and spicy. It's not quite traditional but was quite good. Service was good and efficient for having only one person on staff for the whole restaurant. Decor was familiar for a ramen restaurant with the menu on a wall chalkboard and benches along the wall and chairs on the other side. Would definitely recommend.
