Roots is hands down one of the best barbers in Durham. Gives quality cuts and always get a laugh when I'm the barber chair. You can tell he takes great pride in his work and if you are debating whether or not you should book an appointment, just do it. You won't regret it!

Been getting my hair cut from Khalil and Jroots for years and never had a bad experience. They both provide a professional approach to your cut and can tell they put pride in their work. The cuts are definitely worth it and would recommend to anyone.

Came in today for the first time. J-Roots was awesome and welcoming. The shop is easy to get to with lots of parking around. There's a great coffee shop right across the street too if you arrive early for your haircut.I didn't know what style fade i was after, Justin took the time to walk me through the options and suggest what would suit myself best. I'm really happy with the turnout!The shop has an awesome vibe and is very clean throughout. You can tell Justin & his team really have a passion for the industry and what they do. The price for the service you get is a steal of a deal. Anyone looking to try out someone new has to stop by, you won't regret it!Looking forward to coming back soon :)

As a first timer this was a great experience. The haircut was very well done and there is no lack of attention to detail. The prices are reasonable and the crew will even suggest different looks that might look good. I took his suggestion and couldn't be any more pleased. Highly recommended!!

Moved recently to Whitby and was looking for a barber, so went with the reviews and I must admit it was worth it.The place is clean and newly made up. Had a very good chat with my man KHALIL and an even better hair-cut experience. He was patient (even on a Sunday afternoon), understood what I exactly wanted and the results show!!Do give this place a try if you are in the neighborhood and looking for a good haircut experience.Cheers!

Best barber I've been to. Consults you on what you want, willing to give meaningful input. He will cut your hair to fit your head shape, and the cuts grow in nicely. Great guy as well. Worth the price.

I've been going to the shop for a few cuts now, and the experience is consistently above average. My mom and sister are both hairdressers and have complemented how nice the cut was. Justin is a great barber who takes the time to asks the right questions to make sure you leave his chair with a great cut everytime. Apart from the haircuts the guys are professional and I know I'm going to have high quality conversations with the guys there. It's been a pleasure so far and look forward to many cuts in the future.- Domenic
