Comforts of Home - Care

Comforts of Home Care is a great place to work. The smiles of workers, the prompt response of the management of the company to the staff welfare engender love, compassion and empathy that are extended to clients. Five years counting. I made a right choice to work at Comforts of Home Care, until retirement do us part.

I’ve worked for COHC for about 5 years and love it. I’ve had different employers before and have never met such nice people all the staff at the office are very friendly whenever I have a question I can give them a call or an email. Very flexible schedule. They’re also very good with matching you and your client and if you or the client don’t feel like it’s a right fit it’s not a problem they’ll find new matches. What’s nice is you can have different clients throughout the week so it’s not always the same routine which I’ve always liked.

I recommend this great job for nursing students and those wanting to pursue and has an interest in health care in taking care of people. COHC staff are friendly and understanding. I am able to study and work at the same time because of the flexibility with their schedules. As well as, meeting and taking care of clients are a great experience.

Comforts of Home-Care has been a great fit for my mother. Their services can be tailored to exactly what is needed, from shorter bi-weekly visits to more extensive needs. They work hard to match their staff to their clients to ensure best fit. They stay on top of all matters and keep you informed if and when needed. We are very happy wth their services. I would definitely recommend them to others.

I have been working at Comforts of Home-Care for a little over a year. The staff in the office are always polite and friendly as well as the caregivers and HCA, and the clients are always a delight to see. I find my job very rewarding, as it is always a pleasure helping those that request it. I love the job and everyone I work with.

After being a stay-at-home mom for 20 years, I was very excited to re-enter the work force when Comforts of Home-Care hired me as a caregiver. Working" with my clients wasn't like work at all. It was more like going to visit a family member; going shopping and out for lunch with a friend. It is very rewarding and you feel like you're making a difference in the lives of seniors. This is a horrible place to work! They do not properly train their employees and the pay is literally laughable. In three years I received a .25 raise (yet was on the caregiver alumni). When I brought this up to H.R. I was completely ignored and not emailed back, then I was send a termination letter the next few days! Administration plays favourites ant this agency and if you don’t accept a job, they shun you basically and won’t call you to pick up jobs leaving you without work. Hun please think twice before working for COHC! TRUST ME.P.s. They also pay us in gift cards to write “good” reviews for the agency…SUS

This is a sad company. The coordinator is plain rude and doesn’t fully support on family. As an indigenous woman I don’t appreciate how these care workers sit and laugh at me especially when it comes to culture teachings in my home. 0 respect. I do not recommend this services. One worker actually starved my 25 month old for at lease 5hrs while I was at work. The coordinator actually put the worker back in home which I feel my kids were unsafe. I highly don’t recommend this company. When it comes to families home especially children they just completely ignore the children especially when they have disability. This is my experience as I highly recommend parents to not use this services. As some care workers are taking advantage of Vulnerable people. Very very sad program. Their workers are judgy and some are lazy. If I had to rate I have 0 empathy for this company i don’t know why these coordinators would rather care for their worker but don’t care for their clients especially when it comes to children. Other then that this company is not recommended for families so please be careful of this company especially when it comes to children’s need. I hope this company get some actual training and culture awareness. Very unprofessional.

I have been working with Comforts of Homecare for about 2 years.The staff is always supportive and understanding. I love how they try to find the right client for you .....and if for some reason the fit isn't right; the final decision to accept or not is up to you. The clients make this job! I've always thought our seniors (which is me now! ha) have so much to teach us. Each one I have worked with has given me more than I feel I have ever given to them.

Comforts of home care is the best place to work for! It is a very rewarding job.I have had different employers over the past years, but never before felt such great communication and support between employee and employer.You can choose the hour’s /availability you like to work and most of all you get free study and ongoing inservice with topics like: Alzheimer’s, caring for the elderly, safety, nutrition, hoarding, grieving and many more! These make it easier to understand the client and being able to help them.I would hire comforts of home care for my parents!LS
