New Westminster Cenotaph
A great memorial for those courageous Canadian soldiers who braved their lives during WW1 and WW2 and for those who fought for freedom in the Korean War. Their is also a commerative plaque for the efforts of the Canadian Merchant Navy during these three wars. Two Howitzer canons sit on front lawn of city hall as a WW1 soldier stands on gaurd. Friendship gardens and Tipperary Park are just steps away.

New Westminster Cenotaph
It's a nice place with a lot of benches in the area to sit in, some are usually in the shade. Some history:The cenotaph was unveiled on Armistice Day, November 11, 1922. It's granite came from Vancouver's very own North Shore mountains. The cenotaph was initially placed at the corner of McBride Boulevard and Columbia Street, and then moved closer to the Patullo Bridge, but is now located in here at City Hall, a bit shorter than it started.
