Called to Directly Register my shares.Was lied to several times..... first they tell me they can't due to the company being bankrupt (it's not bankrupt)Then they tell me after I transfer my shares, I will not be able to sell them.They are here to take money from you, that is all.

Poor, unprofessional call center service with long wait; agent has no knowledge about existing promotion.I hope the service level may be improved but it's same after one year.

Horrible customer service from a third party company hired by RBC. I applied to open an account and sent all the documents, yet every time they told me they could not verify who I was. Being frustrated after many weeks of wasting precious time I gave up and cancelled my application. Also, when you call you have to wait very long time before they answer the phone, it has been like this since 2000 when I first opened an account and closed it after a couple of years. No improvement at all since then. Same horrible customer service.

Very Disappointed in RBC direct investing. After being an RBC client for both personal and business banking I felt that their direct investing would would be just as good. Was I ever wrong. First off it started with taking over 20 days to open an account. Two in order to activate my account once finally approved it took 1 hour and 45 minutes on hold. Now if you have any questions or need assistance it’s a minimum of over an hour wait to even speak with someone. For all the technology and all the services you would think they would be able to set up. Customer service calls, emails, chat. To be able to assist loyal customers. An unacceptable level of customer service. In many ways, it is so awful that it is beyond description. Trying to help an elderly relative get into his account (that for no apparent reason was deactivated), spent an hour and a half on the phone! Got the run around- put on hold, they tell you to call one number then the people there tell you to call another and it goes on and on. Pathetic customer service for one of the largest banks in Canada. Based on the other reviews here, I see my complaints are in good company.

I have been trying for almost six months to make a LIRA transfer within RBC. Nothing but hassle! Emails constantly telling me to call them, then sit on hold for hours only to find out they could have called me to work out a issue in 30 seconds. My time is definitely not on their priority list. Pulling everything from RBC as they do not care about their customers.

I called for information on cashable GICs and Irene was so knowledgeable and helpful. I like advisers that give direct concise answers.

It's horrible the way that transactions are wrongly recorded and wrongly shown which heavily impacts my decision to trade. Unfortunately I would have to agree with the recent reviews that indicate that the customer service at RBC Direct Investing is awful. I put in a request to transfer in an account from another financial institution at the beginning of March, (writing this in late April). A number of investments came through okay, but 2 remained. I spoke to someone who advised me they would take care of it and did not. I called again, waited on hold for 20 minutes only to be cut off. I called back, waited another 30 minutes, got someone else who was helpful and indicated that she would get her manager to call me. The manager did call the next morning, assured me she would take care of it and gave me her direct number to follow up. Still nothing happened so I called her 3 times and left voice messages. That was about 3 weeks ago. She did not have the courtesy to call me back and just ignored my messages. I sent a secure message and someone got back to me to indicate that they would handle it, but that was over 10 days ago. I sent a follow up message asking for an update but it remains unanswered after 3 days, even though they indicate 2 business day response, (which is also too long). Still nothing, no communication, no results. I am very frustrated with them but since I have my business with them I will tough it out. Their customer service is a mess and needs some serious attention.If you are looking for an investment service, I would suggest you move on to someone else.
