Yuen's Family Martial Arts

Our family trained here for years and we can't say enough great things about Mr. Yuen and his amazing kid's program. Both our kids got their blackbelt, one a 3rd degree and one her first. Focus and goal setting were the best things out of the experience overall however. If you're considering martial arts for your family or children then this is the place you want to invest your time and energy.

Having two kids attending Yuen's FMAC for the past six years, I'm embarrassed that it's taken this long to write a review.*The nuts and bolts:* The school teaches a blend of martial arts (but rooted in TKD), but integrating aspects of BJJ, JKD and weapons. They teach kids from 4 on up, and have adult programs as well.*The good stuff:* The teachers are all engaged, emotive, encouraging, and genuinely interested in the success of their students. They are It's a martial arts school, but they spend as much time teaching their students how to be better people as how to be technically accurate. It feels that cultivating and encouraging a positive attitude is just as important as (or even more than) aptitude and ability.My kids (9 and 11), have learned so much from Mr. Yuen and the other instructors. They are self confident and driven to achieving their black belts, but are also encouraging, empathetic, and have a strong understanding of what's right and wrong. I feel that the staff at Yuen's has done an exceptional job of discussing and reinforcing these traits and values with my kids over the years, and I couldn't be happier with the results. They're also getting pretty good at martial arts, which is a definite bonus!

A high-quality studio, we've had both our boys here since they were young. The instructors are positive, supportive, and fun. We recommend Yuen's to anyone looking for an excellent martial arts studio!

Simply amazing. Great for kids and adults. Highly recommend to everyone who is interested in learning while getting some physical activity.

Can't say enough great things about Yuen's Martial Arts, especially when it comes to providing kids and family martial arts classes. City Sidewalk's founders have been actively involved as students at Yuen's for the past 15 years and our children have both received their black belts through Yuen's in Coquitlam as well as been instructors at the school.

I have been at Yuen's for almost 7 years. I really enjoy Tae Kwon Do, and it has helped me with learning discipline, integrity and improved my focus.I am currently working on my junior black belt and I feel that Mr Yuen and all the instructors really care about me doing my best.thank you
