Not a bad African market. Has most of the nostalgia-inducing stuffs. But they need to start accepting credit card.A lot of much smaller markets accept credit cards, why can't they?

I had a terrible experience my second at this place today. The first time I was there I was please to shop there. The lady behind the counter and the guy at the meat section was very nice and all. Today I went back and brought a friend with me cause I told her about the place and she wanted to shop there as well. The middle age man who was at the cash register today was simply, unnecessary rude to us. Making smart , rude comment and just nasty to my friend and I for no reason. What you need is show a little respect to your customer no matter the age and gender because we" the customer are the one seeing the lights on in that store. You bet you just lost 2 customer today because of your lack of respect."

Great service. The lady lady at the counter and the lady in the store helped me tremendously once I shared my plans to make fufu and egusi. They guided me through all the aisle for needed ingredients. I am so excited to try making and appreciating a taste of ghana. Thanks to her, I also found a tip so that I will not have to beat my fufu. I will be back.

With the covid 19 crisis it's usually been long queue to buy groceries. I must commend the the owner and workers for their efforts in ensuring that everyone is attended to satisfactorily. At the same time observing the necessary procedures to ensure the safety of its customers.

Food products are extremely overpriced here!!Prices are not static as it varies from the Owner ( Father) his wife and all his daughters. A price of an item changes as you meet each member of the family. I advise you to look at your receipts carefully per item purchased as they tend to inflate prices, keep your receipts and compare them regularly after every trip to this store too.It happened to me and some colleagues we had to go back inside to speak to his daughter who we paid to before she refunded us the excess dollars charged smh. They only accept cash or payment with Debit card . They charge you extra on every transaction when you want to pay with your credit card. The staffs are not allowed to help at the cash point (which would have made checkout faster instead of the long wait or queue) thus they don’t even know the prices of items on the shelves, when you ask them they refer you to go ask the man and his wife or children as either of them are always at the cash point manipulating prices. They do not declare or advertise products with the prices , no price labels or price tags which I believe is against certain laws. There has to be a price list of some sort displayed publicly to customers so they see and know the prices to help them decide on what to pick or what not to buy.I have been there twice now and I must say it’s nice they have majority of food items but most Africans I have spoken to about their experiences there tell me they now go to LaSalle / Lachine /or Châteauguay to buy these food stuffs at reduced prices rather than shop here at Ghanacan. While some say they deal with the Africans who supply Ghanacan directly as they get these products for less and they overcharge customers due to ignorance on their part.I hope they look into these issues raised for the sake of transparency before the Government visits them to regulate these issues themselves.

Awesome and great African store with reasonable prices and fresh African foods in Montreal. They have great customer service and it is highly recommended. The only downside is the store is not big enough so had to queue outside for a while in the rain due to public health restrictions.....
