As a student in Guelph, I struggled to find a barber who could cut it how I wanted. After stumbling upon Mathews barber I gave it a shot. He provided great service and talked me through the cut. Great cut, great conversation.

Great place to get your hair cut in Guelph and buy beard/shaving supplies (oils, soaps, etc.). Matthew was easy to talk too and he did a great job on my hair. You can also easily book online so you don’t have to wait or hope he isn’t busy. And the best part is that he is licensed and has a good selection of beer and whiskey to drink while you get your haircut. I will definitely be returning.

I had a great haircut, beard trim and shave from Matthew today. The conversation was lively and inspiring, the musical accompaniment by a lovely young musician was fantastic, and if it wasn't so early in the day I would have had a dram of Scotch. Will certainly return!

Horrible barbershop, they only know how to do haircuts from 50yrs ago!!! I asked for a fade and they gave me something that looks like a maze on the side of my head. asked for the top to be trimmed a small bit and they cut off 3inchs wonder what 6 inches mean to them then;)

Great cuts and excellent atmosphere. The owner Mathew is very friendly and kind, and provides excellent conversation during your haircut. Usually there are a couple other patrons there as well, enjoying a beverage while waiting for their haircut or just dropping in because it provides that traditional barbershop environment that goes beyond just haircuts.The shop is also doing some great collaborations with other downtown business such as Al's Sandwiches and the Guelph Film Festival.Highly recommend! Not enough stars here.

Matthew was great, and I got a very good haircut. Definitely book a cut ahead of time (reservations available online). I went in the morning, but I gather that the shop is licensed and has a decent selection of beers.

Visited Matthews Barbershop for the first time. Very pleasant experience. I enjoyed a cold Steam Whistle while getting my hair cut. Matthew was fun to chat with and my haircut turned out awesome. $26 for a beer and a haircut plus tip seems like good value to me. Good vibes. Will definitely be returning again!

I always look forward to my haircuts with Matthew. He’s a great conversationalist and I thoroughly enjoy getting my haircut, not only for the great fade, but also for the opportunity to catch up and have a chat.I also appreciate how easy it is to book an appointment through his online booking system.If you haven’t tried him out yet, I highly recommend giving him a visit.

Matthew is one of a kind. I've moved away from Guelph and tried to find a barber or hair dresser closer to home, but there's no point. I drive an hour to Guelph to see Matthew every time I need a hair cut because he is truly the best. Thank you so much Matthew, please always cut my hair.
