Wont donate until CBS allows LGBTQ2+S to donate. Cant support an organization that wont socially accept all of our population.

I went to donate blood yesterday. Everything was fine, except (and one woman doing the screening and myself knew it was do to eating my salty snack at that moment) my temperature was .1 let me say it again .1 degree over. Sorry you can not donate your high heme O+ blood via those healthy big veins because you MAY have an infection. I said well why don't I go out there for 3 minutes and we take my temperature again. We all know it was do to my mild activity. Sorry since covid we cant. So you will take away the life supply that someone may need in case I have a infection. I am sorry can you not take a sample and test the white cell count to confirm before using the blood. Take, sample and give! I would rather take my chances on blood if I were in a predicament instead of my son never seeing his mom again. I am really disappointed. Why take a chance to go through all that again and leave work again early for an incase of a little rise in temperature like that. Maybe someone can explain this concept for me. I get the rest of the tests but this. My temperature sits high when i am working out too so I would actually be taking chances of just being turned away?

The staff are some of the kindest and most helpful people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. Lots of delicious snacks and everybody does their best to make you comfortable and relaxed. Plus you get the added joy of knowing you're helping others!

Staff are decent but be warned your schedule must be flexible. I booked and it was canceled the morrning of. Was notified by email and didnt see until there. No big deal. Schedule another day and get there. End up waiting about 2 hrs to draw blood which takes around an hr. I told them a few times I need to be done by a time frame which was not met. Had the cancel to be home for an internet hookup after waiting 2 hrs. Second wasted trip.I worked, go to school and am quiet busy. Cant be bothered to dedicate my time like that when I got things to do. Doesnt help they only operate during regular business hrs when most are working or at schoolBut if you got loads of free time to waste in the am it could work

Please do not go here. I have 33 donations and i refuse to donate here even while living in the city for 5+ years.They are rude. Make fun of my name. Get made that my preferred address is my mb location. And get very mad when you ask for help with the apps on ipad. Please, some of us get confused with both locations and technology. Please treat me with some basic dignityI will wait till i go to mb to donate again. 2 years ago i tried to donate and they got made because i showed up 30 minutes early!!! Telling me they have enough trouble with their printed out schedule.When asked where to go next. The nurse will scoff and point at 3 different doors!!! When asked what they meant. The point AGAIN but scoff louder the next time.That was 2 years ago. I went today....THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED!!!!!There is a reason why i will only donate in Manitoba or Saskatoon. This place makes me feel like I'm doing a huge burden to their work day.This location needs to get workers that will show compassion to the people who show up early. Drive there with their own gas money. And take 90 minutes out of their dayNever donate here. Its just an all around humiliating experience

Had complications during donation. I ate and drank before going. So not sure if this was user error. I was highly impaired after the donation. I felt numbness in my arm, had vertigo, couldn't walk without assistance and they got angry when I told them I couldn't walk. Not wanting to assist due to COVID. My blood pressure was low. They wanted me out of there before closing, and I had to figure out how to get home in an impaired state. I couldn't use my phone I was that impaired. They insisted that I didn't need to go to a hospital. Then I had to figure out how to get back there before nightfall to move my car back home. It took several months for the pain in my arm to leave. And if I think about getting a needle to draw blood all I can imagine is the pain from my donation. It wasn't worth the granola bar I was given. Absolutely no follow ups done! It put me in quick the shocking experience. No pun intended.

Excellent! The efficient and friendly staff did an outstanding job of making my experience truly painless. It was much faster than I was expecting . Great job!
