Village Chippery

Bright and cheery, is the Chippery! Great service and yummy food. Large menu selection; vegan/vegetarian and gluten-free options, appies to full meals and kids menu. It is licensed and has patio seating. Great place for families. Take-out or dine-in. Really worth a visit!

Great fish and chips! Very reasonable prices and all the staff are super friendly and personable. Monthly poutine specials are always delicious and fun. A regular stop for my family!

Attentive and friendly service. My husband really enjoyed the Barnyard Burger and I had the ABC Beef Burger which was also quite tasty. The only complaint I have is that the bun for my burger was a little stale. That won't stop us from coming back to try some of the other menu items though :)*Adding some more information here. The owner immediately reached out and apologized for the dissatisfaction with my burger bun. That's some great customer service right there. Overall pleased with our experience at Village Chippery. A local restaurant that cares about their customers.

Delicious food, excellent service, and much more then fair prices, highly recommend to anyone seeking pub style food. Barnyard burger is as flavourful as it is massive!

This place is such a treasure! Always the best possible service, amazing food, generous portions and such an awesome atmosphere! Patty and John are phenomenal people who have become such an intricate part of the Shawnigan community. We are so lucky to have this gem!

Awesome little place found by chance. A funkily decorated diner. The food is great! Fresh and all made in-house. The hot dogs were delicious and the french fries were perfect. Ice cream was a great way to end our meal. Service was great and very friendly. Place is open year-round every single day (unusual as other places shut down after the summer season). Will definitely go back :)

Awesome food! My wife and I grew up in Shawnigan Lake but now live in Victoria, almost every time we come up to Shawnigan for the day we stop here for drinks and lunch! Highly recommend! They have a awesome patio that gets lots of sun in the summer time!

Food serves were large and tasty. Mine was fish and chips and coleslaw whilst husband had poutine. Staff were friendly and helpful and provided takeaway box for my leftovers as I couldn't eat it all.Thanks to the lovely ladies who prepared, cooked and served us. Maria, visiting from Australia.

Excellent food, really good fish & chips and the service is absolutely friendly. We got the recommendation from the visitor center and it was probably the best fish & chips I had in Canada so far.

Well, we just moved in to the neighbourhood of Shawnigan. Unpacking boxes and not wanting to cook. We thought we would try the Village Chippery. Not a good choice.Before I go further. I'm 60 yrs old and like fish and chips. So I've eaten a lot of fish and chips.I went in for take out on Sunday August12. The place was maybe half full. I was told they had a rush and there would be a wait. Ok. I can wait. 2 orders of 2 pieces of cod. By the way I think malt vinegar and tartar sauce comes out of the staffs pay. I got my $30 order and went home. Got 4 pieces of fish as my wife did. They were tiny pieces of fish slathered in very greasy batter (not lightly battered). Not good. I don't care where the potatoes for fries are from. If they are soggy, it just doesn't matter..I have never written a review. But this needed.Also it seemed every surface in the place was sticky.Don't think I'll be going back any time soon.The staff were fine. But all they seemed to say was sorry for the wait" and "thanks for your patience""
