Cheakamus Centre

Our experience at Cheakamus Centre was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.Staff:The two main people I spoke with up until the wedding were Sepideh Tazzman and Amanda Woida. They were incredibly kind and extremely responsive. Amanda was always willing to answer any of my questions even though our wedding was still almost 2 years out at the time when we began talking. She was attentive, extremely organized, and more than gracious. They were flexible with a few last minute changes, including the food, and kept me at ease every step of the way. The chef, servers, and bartenders were amazing and my guests all raved about the food, and mostly about the service. I have to say I have never heard such good things about wedding food and bar service as I did for our wedding.The preferred vendors they recommended to me were also phenomenal, I worked with both the baker, and the DJ they recommended and I have nothing but amazing things to say about them as well.Venue:The venue is breathtakingly gorgeous. It has so many beautiful options for the ceremony location onsite. We initially decided to have it below the reception area in the under cover area, but the day before the wedding we decided to have it in the new forested ceremony area because of how stunning it looked when we arrived. It required minimal decor because of how perfect it was on its own with wooden benches and an arbor already provided.The venue was perfect for our wedding and we wanted a modern industrial, yet rustic wedding and that is exactly what we got. And that is why we fell in love with it the second we saw it. It is right on an offshoot of the Cheakamus River with a little dock and a pathway into the woods along the merky light blue water.Photography:There isn't a better location for the most perfect wedding photos. Every where you turn and look is picture perfect. We even had 2 deer bless us with their presence during the ceremony before I walked down the isle.Pricing:We had about 100 guests, and it was the perfect amount of people for the space though it can hold somewhere just over 150 or so. I would say the pricing is completely reasonable for the service, food, and location/setting you are getting. My husband and I saved up for the wedding for 1 year and were able to cover the costs no problem.Accommodation:There are cabins located onsite if you or your guests need accommodation the weekend or night of your wedding, at a 40 guest minimum per night. Such a reasonable price, at $30 per person and you can't beat the convenience or safety of having them a short walk from your wedding. It allowed us to dance the night away and not worry about anyone drinking & driving.There are also multiple hotels about 10-15 min drive away, and a taxi service that only needs about 30-40 min notice to pick anyone up.Restrictions:The only main restriction is that you are unable to bring your own food or drinks, other than cake or candy (we had a cake/cupcakes and a candy bar for our wedding), along with wedding jam favors. But after tasting the food they provide it is so worth it.Everything about this wedding venue is an 11/10, and we could not possibly be any happier about our experience there!! We recently got married at Cheakamus Centre and our day was absolutely perfect. Our guests absolutely loved everything too! The outdoor area is breathtaking and the reception hall is beautiful. The area is quiet and secluded which gave us ample privacy and intimacy for our special day. The staff were very easy to work with and extremely accommodating and flexible to our needs. Seamless, perfect wedding. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience. We had our wedding at this venue, and couldn't of dreamed of anywhere better. Our guests raved about the gorgeous landscape and the delicious food! Our initial draw to this venue was the fact that the ELC offered a covered outdoor space for the ceremony should the weather not cooperate, as we got married in April (known to be rainy). How great is that, to not have to worry about alternate weather plans?! Cheakamus Centre offers privacy from the general public unlike many other event venues; you can get married outside in forest without anyone but your guests present!Our contact with Amanda, the banquet manager, was always timely, helpful, and organized so we never had a worry about the planning around the venue.The ELC building, the surrounding grounds, the sustainability in their food choices, and their incredible staff made the planning process incredibly simple and efficient. We highly recommend this venue to others who like us, have a love for the outdoors, a simplistic vision, and an interest making their wedding a positive and environmentally sustainable one!

Our wedding at the Cheakamus Centre was more than we could have dreamed of. Planning a wedding from New York was going to be a challenge and we were ready for that, but the second we met with Sepideh and Amanda all of our anxiety disappeared. Those two could make organizing any event an absolute breeze and our wedding was no exception. Camp Veggie Burger had been a dream of ours since the day we got engaged. Never in a million years could we have imagined that we would get to have it in a place like the Cheakamus Centre, with food like we had from Chef Wade, organization like we had from Sepideh and Amanda and the breathtaking scenery that comes with the venue. From the forested ceremony area, to the gorgeous front lawn, to the spectacular hall itself, the Cheakamus Centre was a dream come true for us.Our wedding was the best day of our lives, and so much of that was made possible by the wonderful staff at the Cheakamus Centre. Thank-you!!!

As a wedding photographer, I love seeing the different venues available for my brides and grooms. Earlier this year, I was introduced to Cheakamus Centre through one of my couples. The covered outdoor area where the wedding was held was lovely, with rustic wooden benches and a beautiful arbor. The centre itself, where the reception was held, was just gorgeous and made a perfect backdrop for family and friends to celebrate. Not to mention the grounds around Cheakamus Centre, which were picture perfect (pun intended) for bridal portraits!

This place provides an amazing experience in an absolutely beautiful setting. I have been a few times now and regardless of the weather, it never ceases to amaze me just how breathtaking some of the views really are. This most recent trip I was able to see so many eagles and they were swooping down close. So challenging to get a good picture of it.

We just had our wedding at the Cheakamus centre and it was absolutely perfect. If you're looking for something natural, beautiful, true to BC, and private then this is absolutely the place for you.I can't say enough good things about this venue. We loved all the aspects - ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Our ceremony was held in the outdoor forest location and it was truly magical. You are surrounded by greenery and birds chirping, and it could not be a more peaceful and serene setting. Our guests kept commenting on how beautiful it was. The reception was also stunning. The floor to ceiling windows on either side make you feel like you are still outside in the forest. We had 80 people and we definitely could have fit more, but we felt like we had so much space for tables and a large dance floor without any rearranging. The string lights are so beautiful and really create a great mood in the reception space.Aside from the stunning venue, all the staff is so great. Everyone on site was smiling and helpful and the food was awesome. And last but certainly not least is the main wedding contact, Amanda. She is incredibly organized, caring, and answers emails back very quickly (always within 1-2 days). She really reduced our stress leading up to the wedding because with her various checklists and planning guides, we knew we had all the big things under control. We can't say enough good things about Amanda! The venue also takes care of all major rentals (tables, chairs, all dishware, etc) so it makes the planning as easy as possible.If we could do it all again, we would 100% chose Cheakamus again.

As a person that used to volunteer for The Outdoor School, I was pleasantly surprised how far the Centre has come, with regards to property developments, and events offered to the community. I have had the opportunity to do a site tour with your event manager, Sepideh Tazzman over the summer and was able to get a thorough overview of all available facilities this great company offers. In addition, my girlfriend got married at the Cheakamus Centre over the summer and it was a once in a lifetime experience. From the wonderful venue, to the helpful staff, and delicious food, this is definitely a peaceful, serene, and beautifully designed facility. I will definitely consider this as my wedding venue in the future. Your events manager was so welcoming and knowledgeable, that I left feeling like I knew everything about the Centre. Thank you to all the staff for such an amazing experience. It will be something that I will always remember!

I cannot say enough good things about this facility and staff.We held our wedding at the Cheakamus Centre this past August and loved not only how beautiful the setting was, but how easy Sepideh & staff the made the planning process. They were very informative and quick to respond to questions or concerns and the rentals they had on hand or available to rent on our behalf were very helpful and saved us a lot of time and stress. But above all, we appreciated that the Cheakamus Centre was flexible and accommodating which allowed us to have the wedding of our dreams and stay within our budget.Rain or shine the facility grounds were gorgeous and made for beautiful photos. The main building was the perfect blank slate for decorations...though with all the green in the windows we hardly needed any.Beautiful facility and location, delicious food, friendly staff! I highly recommend.

We were so lucky to secure a day at the Cheakamus Centre for our wedding this summer. Our guests raved that it was the best wedding they've been to...the food, the service, the views and the vibe were all perfect. And we loved offering cabins to our guests so they could stay with us overnight and enjoy a late night bonfire and amazing brunch the next morning. It was such a cool and unique wedding experience and everyone loved it.Sepideh and the events staff were all beyond professional and we were so comfortable and pleased with the entire planning process. Everything exceed our expectations...it was an incredible weekend and we are so grateful to everyone at the Cheakamus Centre.
