VCA Canada Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital

This is my go to vet hospital for emergencies. My cat Foo had to have emergency surgery 9 years ago and they took such good care of him and reassured me that he would be okay and everything went so well. This week he had another emergency come up, so we instantly took him here.All the staff are so kind and friendly, and they take such good care of him. I feel so much better durning stressful situations and emergency surgeries knowing he is in their care.

I definitely recommend VCA & will take my doggy here again! My first visit to VCA was when my dog, Remi, ate a cake of suet plus more birdseed while I was at work. At the time, I had very little funds, so the vet tech worked with me & the vet so I got the vet's advice & a can of special dog food for free! Luckily Remi got better within a day or so & didn't have bloat or blockage.My second visit to VCA was today, when we noticed Remi having some issues with her eye. There was a bit of a wait before being seen by the vet, but that's to be expected at any ER. A great vet tech saw her within 10 mins of us checking in! And there is free coffee & comfy chairs, so waiting wasn't so bad.Remi received treatment for her eye, plus a cone & drops to take home. All in all, it only came to $375!The vet, vet techs, and staff here are amazing & so welcoming, & were so gentle & caring with Remi. Dr. Jen van der Lee was very informative & sweet, explained everything detail & made treatment as comfortable for Remi as possible.Thank you so much, VCA!

Thank you VCA for saving my senior dog's life. After a serious injury from a dog bite, they preformed surgery on my high risk senior dog with several chronic health issues. They were kind, compassionate, and took time answering all of our questions including my frequent phone calls to check up. Thank you so much for saving his life. Our family is forever grateful!

Absolutely amazing service. We brought our Chihuahua in with a bad gastro problem and they were very efficient in getting her information and in to be accessed and seen by the doctor. They had her treated and ready to take home in a decent amount of time, lab work takes a bit.All staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. The clinic is clean and inviting. I highly recommend them when you have an emergency with your pet. Being new to the island we don't have a regular vet, it's great to have access to this clinic when you need one.

Had the worst experience here due to the lack of information given to us. We stayed in a waiting room for over an hour before someone finally came and asked a few questions and left with our dog. They had her in the back room for over an hour and a half and couldn't find anything wrong with her. Received the dog back and still had to wait to get the results back, which there were none. The vet assumed the dog ate something toxic and would be fine in a few hours to a day. Then we were told to see the receptionist at the front for the bill. It was $200 to basically walk in and be seen and then whatever the vet said would be an extra charge on top of that. It took almost another hour just to get the bill which is unacceptable. We showed up at 9pm and finally left after 1am. I doubt I would take her here again, felt like a money grab and they just took advantage of our emotions thinking the dog was in a bad state and we didn't have any other place to take her. Lesson learned...the hard way.

Excellent service. No one wants an emergency vet visit, but they make it as stress-free as possible. My dog has been there twice, both times for eating things she shouldn’t have. Expect a $500 bill, but also expect to receive excellent care.

We arrived mid afternoon on a busy Saturday with a sick puppy and were greeted by friendly staff in a spotless and welcoming environment. We were quickly triaged and when able to meet the vet and vet tech, were greeted with that same welcoming and friendly energy. Our needs were heard and quickly assessed. We felt heard and supported, and all questions were answered quickly. Fortunately, we had a positive outcome and were on our way within 2 hours. Thank you VCA for making a scary situation feel positive! You provide a VERY valuable service.

I was very impressed with our recent visit and highly recommend VCA. From the moment we walked in the care and service we received was top-notch. We had to travel from Saltspring Island and they went above and beyond to work with us and our limited schedule.Yes it’s more expensive as other reviewers mentioned, but consider that you are getting a top veterinary surgical team and support staff, and their services run far beyond the capabilities of most vet practitioners. They are worth the extra cost.Thank you to Dr.Bernard and Jason particularly for taking care of our cat Oreo, you were amazing.
