Bowen's Pet Grooming

We have been taking our dogs to Terry Bowen for years. He is the only groomer we trust in the GTA to do a proper hand strip. He is also the only groomer we know that knows how to groom a Norfolk terrier. We don't expect or want any bells and whistles for the pets, just a well done clean, groom, and maintenance. Thanks Terry!

He butchered my dog’s paw by cutting it too short and now she’s bleeding and in pain. Her eyes also got blood shot maybe because of how traumatized she was. The owner told me it might have been caused by hair dryer. I am so annoyed.

The good- the groomer is accommodating as I was late…. But I guess it could have been a sign not go.The bad- I am livid to what happened to my dog. Just look at the pictures! I can understand cutting a nail too close to the quick- but 4 times?Her bloodshot eye- the explanation I got was it’s because of the shampoo or the dryer. This explanation irks me, as my dog is very timid and will stay put as long as you tell her.I also followed up with a phone call to understand why this happened. Again the explanation was not helpful and was offered powder for her nails.I recently moved to the area and found great reviews of this shop and the location was very convenient. Needless to say, I should have made the effort and driven her to her regular groomer in EtobicokeI don’t usually post reviews, but since I relied on other peoples post- I am posting this for awareness and not to deter any business

The best I've come across in 7 years .. he's a 'professional dog person' in every sense of the words. I've been going to him for 2 years now and he has been exceptional. He really knows dogs and he does diagnose while he's grooming .. great way to stay ahead of health issues before they become problematic .. also great price

Take my dog here regularly to get her nails trimmed and bathed. She's an older dog and they know she gets a little antsy waiting so they arrange her appointments without her having to wait. They call me as soon as she's done as well for pick up which is nice so she doesn't have to stay any longer than need be. Would definitely recommend this place for grooming. The gentleman here definitely has experience as there are really old looking pictures from dog competitions in the past. He knows what he's doing 100%.

AWFUL EXPERIENCETook my dog to get his nails trimmed, he at one point was screaming in pain so I ran back there to stop him. He tried to tell me he was fine and not in pain. I know my dog as every dog owner does, and my dog never screams unless he is in pain. It was terrible. Once he finished filling nails, he walked out and said 12$ and I went to take my dog from him first as my dog did not like him (he likes everyone) and he pulled back and didn't want to give me my dog. That's when I got rude and demanded he let my hold my dog or he doesn't get his 12$.There where other dogs in there crying/ Super hot in there, as he has no air condition. This place is pure torture. Needs to be shut down.

Beware of this butcher... Took my little doggy here to get groomed, because I wanted to support local business, but what a nightmare. I should have listen to my gut feeling and walked right out. If you've been here, you'll know it does not look sanitary.This guy butchered my dog, and she was bleeding when she came home because he cut the nails so poorly. Her hair was not done properly, all crooked.On top of that, she got an infection from his filthy tools. She has never had an infection, and right after this visit the places she was nicked/cut got infected. We took her to the vet and he confirmed that it was likely from the dirty tools used to groom her.We now go to another groomer further away and are MUCH happier. Our neighbour also had a problem with this groomer - so this isn't a one time occurrence. Stay away! Time for this guy to shut down.

Never going here again. Took Pomeranian in for a grooming. They asked how to cut the hair and we said not too short and this is what we got. We are furious. Who cuts a puppy like this?
