Elementary school is often the place where we create some of our most cherished memories, and for me, that school is OM Mackillop. OM Mackillop has a special place in my heart because it is where I learned so much, made lifelong friends, and had some of my most exciting moments. In this essay, I will explain why I love OM Mackillop, its teachers, students, facilities, sports teams, and why it is a place where my heart lives. One of the reasons I love OM Mackillop is its teachers. They are kind, caring, and understanding. The teachers go above and beyond to make sure that their students are happy and comfortable. They are not only knowledgeable, but they are also patient and willing to answer any questions the students may have. In my experience, the teachers have always been accommodating and have always tried to make learning fun. They create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in class, which is very important for a child's development. Their passion for teaching inspires students to love learning and strive to do their best. The students at OM Mackillop are friendly, inclusive, and welcoming. They come from different backgrounds and cultures, but they all share a common love for learning. I have made so many good friends at OM Mackillop, and I still keep in touch with some of them even after graduating. The students are not only intelligent, but they also possess good character traits such as kindness, empathy, and teamwork. The school creates an atmosphere where students feel safe and supported, which is crucial for their social and emotional growth.OM Mackillop's facilities are top-notch. The school is always clean, and the classrooms are well-maintained. The school has excellent gym equipment, which is essential for students' physical development. The school also has a library that is well-stocked with books, which is crucial for students' academic growth. The school provides an environment that supports learning, which makes it easier for students to focus and concentrate. The sports teams at OM Mackillop are top tier. The school has excellent coaches who are passionate about their sports and know how to bring out the best in their students. The sports teams are not only competitive, but they also teach students about teamwork, discipline, and hard work. Being part of a sports team also helps students develop self-confidence and leadership skills, which are crucial for their personal growth.OM Mackillop has made me a better person. The school has challenged me to think critically, be empathetic, and strive to be my best. The school has given me the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, which has broadened my perspective and understanding of the world. The school has taught me to be kind, compassionate, and respectful, which are values that I hold dear. Finally, while I love OM Mackillop, I must admit that the Principal could have been better. There were times when she was unreasonable and lacked empathy. However, this did not detract from my overall love for the school. I still believe that OM Mackillop is a special place, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. In conclusion, OM Mackillop is a place where my heart lives. The school has played a significant role in my life, and I will always cherish the memories I have made there. The teachers are great, the students are friendly, the facilities are top-notch, the sports teams are excellent, and the school has made me a better person. Despite the occasional shortcoming, OM Mackillop remains one of the best elementary schools I have ever attended, and I will forever be grateful for my time there.

This school is not bad.My daughter goes there and she comes home happy but she is scared of this one teacher that is racist and is going to be her teacher in November so if the school is seeing this if you catch the teacher doing bad things to her students please fire her if you can because it's not okay to have racist teachers and mean teacher's that make students scared in my opinion.

I came into this school at the end of grade 3, and graduated. The teachers at this school try their very best to create a learning environment that fits the students best. It is a small school but the love it showers for students is indescribable. This school tries its very best to engage students into different activities whether it is holidays, festivals, etc. The teachers are very kind. My most favourite years in this school was when I was in grade 7 and 8. We were mostly online during the time of COVID, but the love and fun we had during that time was incredible. In grade 7, yrdsb told teachers to complete a package with us students and teach us how cyberbullying, stereotypes, culture, bullying, religion, race, and gender, colour, ethnicity, etc, can affect a person. it is important that we should embrace everyone. But, as my class participated we talked about how this had negative impacts on us, or we learned something interesting and new. I also think that when the teachers hear our opinions regarding the matter (I listed above) It was as if they were learning from us, and how we felt, and we were learning from them as well. Some of my teachers opened a little bit on how they were a part of all this, and how they were not, because it did not imply to them. But they know now that this sort of thing exists. But, I must say that this school was like my second family, and always will be. Weather the education of all this was late from our teachers and the board, but, I'm so glad that yrdsb has taken all this into account of us students and encouraged the teachers to do this package with all yrdsb students. What I experienced in my old school before coming to Mackillop was that religion, race, culture, bullying, stereotypes, etc. I think I was embaraced of my religion and culture. But, I am not now, beacuse I am proud, cause what I learnt in grade 7 and 8 is that everyone is equal. I really miss this school. And my wish and hope is that the teachers and principal can create this school more and more diverse in the future, and make every single student feel welcomed. I felt welcomed in this school because it is my family and that will never change.

I have gone here for 10 years and even though it’s not the greatest school it’s still not bad. There’s not a lot of people so it’s more private.

My son, like all children, was born with a “love of learning”. As he started progressing in OM Mackillop, he became bored, complacent, and restless. His “love of learning” quickly deteriorated and began to manifest as behavioral issues that included acting out and apathy toward learning. The answer was simple. Find a school that challenged him enough to feed his “love of learning”, acknowledge his individuality, and guide him to “do the right thing”. Obviously OM Mackillop is not the right school for him.
