Easy-going and helpful hosts; cabins equipped for all comfort levels; washrooms clean and spacious; we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.

The cabins were so cute, clean, and nicely decorated with art, books, and more. We didn’t get a chance to use the pizza oven, but would have made a point to do so if we’d stayed longer, as it’s a great amenity. Bathrooms are close to the cabins and are kept clean and well-lit.We also went kayaking with their onsite company, North River Kayak Tours, and it was a blast and an unforgettable experience; Angelo is a great guy and great guide.I would absolutely stay again and recommend them to anyone.

Excellent! Owner Angelo and his staff made our stay wonderful. They all are so accommodating. We stayed there with our Son and Daughter-in-law and had a great experience there.We watched an instructional video by Angelo how to use the wood fired pizza and also from Christine and we made two great pizzas for dinner. Would DEFINITELY go back and stay a little longer next time.

The experience was both wonderful and unforgettable. From the beautifully decorated and very comfy cabins to the clean and well-maintained washrooms, showers and sauna, to the lovely grounds decorated with some awesome local art! This a fabulous place for the adventurous and young at heart who want to meet other like-minded people in the evenings after a long day of sightseeing, browsing the area, or resting or kayaking.We stayed 4 nights at River Nest, mid October 2021 and at the end of their regular season. We arrived in the dark, at a late supper time and were lucky enough to join the end of year pizza party and celebration of Angelo’s wife, Danielle’s birthday party. As generous and kind hosts they invited us to join right in. Many varieties of pizza were made in their wood fired pizza oven…it was amazing and delightful. We met several new people, most from away like Ontario and even a couple from Switzerland! We enjoyed their company around a big communal fire pit. We also enjoyed the outdoor shared kitchen complete with a large table & chairs, barbecue and a small fridge.We absolutely loved our camping experience at River Nest Wilderness Cabins as much as we loved the fabulous visions on the Cabot Trail and the brilliantly fall coloured leaves. While internet service is quite spotty hopefully you can put down your phone long enough to just enjoy the moment and breathe. A special thanks Angelo for providing such an awesome camping experience through your cool cabins! We hope to return some day along our travels but we have already spread the word….until we meet again…ci vediamo.

Such a great place to rest and recharge! We stayed there for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Clean rooms and bathrooms, quiet setting, beautiful river view. Due to the weather we did not try the pizza oven, fire pit or kayaking, but we did enjoy the sauna immensely. Everyone was super friendly! Special thanks to Angelo for making us feel right at home. ☺️

Very clean and cozy cabin. The hosts were very friendly and ensured our needs were met. Enjoyed using the pizza oven to warm up our sandwiches and melt the cheese yummy.

Such a perfect little spot to stay when visiting Cape Breton. Good central location and clean, well-equipped cabins. Lots to do outside (fire pit, pizza oven, BBQ) although it was raining when we arrived so unfortunately we couldn’t take advantage. Angelo is so kind and made us feel welcome. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a spot on Cape Breton Island!

Well built and uniquely designed cabins. Great getaway from the noise of the big city. Beautiful lake steps away from the cabin! washrooms were clean, wish we stayed at a warmer time!
