Favourite beer spot of ours! You’ll find beers and flavours that are very unique. The offerings rotate often as well. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Would highly recommend a visit on a warm day.

Delicious beer. Tried many many types and they've all been exceptional. Every time I arrive to Howl I'm excitied to see the current selection.

I want to start by saying this isn’t your father’s beer. This is a unique tasting experience that requires an open mimd (and palate).Gotta admit, I’ve never had beer made with spruce tips, chaga mushrooms or myrrh. Yes, myrrh as in the “three wise men” gift.I am so glad I didn’t listen to my initial thoughts of “this beer is weird” and walk away. I would have missed out on an incredible tasting experience!! The winter Gruit was amazing, and would pair well with a big Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, the entire dinner. The Eye of Newt winter Gruit was so damn unique, i cannot even begin to describe it, just a primal urge to shout to Oden “here I come!!!We settled on the Belgium Ale, just amazing. Howl Brewery is constantly making small batches of these wonderfully creative beers. It’s well worth the trip up to North Saanich for this amazing taste experience. I’ll definitely be back just to see (and taste) what these crazy maniacs at Howl Brewery come up with next.

Go here!! Especially on a nice day, they have a great patio area and some excellent beers to sample or take home. You get substantial samples in a flight and the beers are very well crafted! The three I tried anyway were delicious. I will definitely be back here many times this summer!

Great crew, great beer, great location, bring your growlers and meowlers! Ok I didn't need to write meowlers but I just wanted to. Dan and crew make great microbrew, and there's always something different and unique to try. Definitely a Category 12 vibe where they're trying to push and find that next thing we haven't tasted yet. Pick up some bread and veggies at Fickle Fig while you're there, then head down to Pat Bay and lay on the hood of your light blue 1976 AMC Pacer with flames painted on the sides and watch the planes land. You really can't go wrong.

West coast pale? Sour.IPA? SourSour? SourThese are all sours, which is fine but marketing them as other styles is disappointing. Overall quality strikes me as they need a few more years to nail clean and fresh styles.

Brewing small batches a few times a week with a bend toward historical and lost styles makes this small (nano) brewery a reason to get out to North Saanich. Working much like a homebrewer who has outgrown his garage, Dan has moved into a public location where he can spread the gospel, history and artistry of making beer in a minimalist brewery. His love of beer is obvious as he pour you a sample and talks about them like a beloved family member. His small production facility ensures that there will be a lot of changes to the lineup and the fun will be helping him to decide which 3 or 4 beers that he needs to make on a regular basis. If your up by the Airport and love craft beer at it's humble and honest roots stop by and enjoy. The Fickled Fig has some outstanding food to pair up with his beers and lots of great fresh food and seasonal produce to go along home with your growler fill

Haven’t been able to get into their brewery yet, but I was give a mixed 6 pack and I am a fan. I have tried 498 different beers from 36 countries over the past 6 years (since I’ve been tracking) and a lot of those beers have been from the small, local craft breweries. So far I have tried the Vienna Lager, Citra IPA and am currently on my back deck enjoying a Chaga Spruce Lager.I can’t wait until I am able to find them in my local Cowichan liquor store.Keep up the awesome brews.

Not terrible, but not very good either.Decided to try these guys out for a growler fill. Tried the Lichtenhainer (described as a smoked sour amber ale") and their Vienna Lager.Unfortunately
