Great service, Jane and Les really know canoeing kayaking and sup. We bought a canoe from them recently and it is great. We are so happy they moved to their new permanent location at 200 hunt rd northbrook. Keep up the great work

Reservation is a must when you book for weekend/holidays and they send you a very thorough instruction email on how to get there/pay/use the canoe. We paid $50 for 2 canoes for 4hrs (including life jackets, paddles, safety kit). We also parked the canoes on the shore and swam at the beach then canoed back. All of us had an amazing Canada Day weekend using their canoes. Would highly recommend!

Our group of three went to rent a canoe from this outfitter. We arrived before the outfitters opened but the line up was already very long. The long line was understandable given the current travel limitations but you could tell they are understaffed (over 1hr wait before the store opened). We waited patiently to rent a canoe to see the park. When it was our turn we were greeted by an unwelcoming man without a face mask. We told him we wanted a 3 person canoe and he only gestured us to sign the paper. After the paperwork was completed he just told us to pick any canoe flipped over on the ground. There was no safety briefing, he did not specify which canoe to get, no warning on life jackets, or asked us any questions about our canoeing skills. We looked around the site and found my canoes in rough shape. Most of them dented or with holes that were patched up. There were no 3 seater canoes available and we got no warning but I think that is because the staff does not keep track of the equipment being rented out. Clearly this establishment just takes your money and you take whatever you can get. We got a canoe that was very unstable and was very hard to maneuver. I have been renting canoes from other outfitters and have paddled in very choppy water and windy conditions with a much smoother canoe.Overall, the service was unprofessional and the canoes did not feel well maintained or cleaned. There is no other choices when you are in the Bon Echo area, but next time I would rent from further away and carry it on my car to avoid the long line up, high cost, rude staff and plain old disappointment.

A group of four of us rented from Bon Echo Outfitters on the Friday following Labour Day and had a great experience. We showed up mid-day and were able to rent two single kayaks and a tandem kayak, but canoes and stand up paddle boards were also available. The service we received was very pleasant, our rental cost was reduced from the full day rate because we were renting so late, and the return process was very convenient given that we could return the kayaks after hours as long as we did so before dark. The craft are well-worn, which is to be expected from the main outfitter to one of the most popular provincial parks in the province, but everything worked great for us and made for an excellent day on the water. We are looking forward to renting from here again in the future!

Les was great to deal with and very helpful with direction and helping me secure the canoe we purchased to our vehicle. Couldn’t ask for better customer service!

This was our 6th year in Bon Echo, we absolutely love it. It is our one big trip a year and my kids consider it a tradition as do I. We always canoe along the cliff walls on our last day and it has always been lovely.This year we went and due to Covid there was understandably a very long and slow moving line. I had checked numerous times and was told they took debit and had always paid with debit in the past. After over an hour of waiting the person working came out, taped a piece of paper on the board and yelled, I am only taking cash." I was a little surprised

Their phone representative is unhelpful, rude, and dismissive.I called about canoe rentals since they've been handling that for Bon Echo for the past few years. They did not provide any helpful information but did provide a handful of attitude before cutting me off and hanging up.I had to call the Bon Echo Park main office to learn that responsibility over canoe rentals has been shifted to the park itself. Wouldn't it have been nice to just start with that?

I bought a surplus canoe off Les and Jane. They were good enough to hold onto it for much longer than expected due to frequent blasts of bad weather on the weekends I was available to drive from Ottawa. Fantastic customer service.
