Queenswood Villa Retirement Community by Spring Living

My 89-year-old mother has been living at Queenswood Villa since 2017. She has made many new friends there and participates in several activities. The staff are very warm, friendly and professional. It is a real pleasure dealing with them. For my mother, living at the Villa is like living with family. I am so happy to see her spending her golden years in a place that feels like home. Thanks to everyone at Queenswood Villa!

For a number of years now I have been visiting Queenswood Villa as part of the Pastoral Care Team from Divine Infant Parish. We are always warmly welcomed by the residents and staff alike and I and other members of our team look forward to our twice monthly visits where we pray the Rosary with the residents who choose to join us. The community is caring and welcoming and it is a pleasure and a blessing to spend some time with them in their home.

I love working at Queenswood. I'm the receptionist and I've worked here for almost 3 years now. I have had such a good view of the Villa's togetherness and family like atmosphere that my Grandparents, Great-Uncle and Great-Aunt have moved in. My favourite part is sharing everyday moments with the residents and my coworkers. There is no place I'd rather be then here. I come to work but it feels like going to see family and friends. I love this place and the people here.

Over 7 years ago my dad chose to make Queenswood villa his retirement home.. He loved it there. It really was home to him. From the caring nursing staff, to the cleaning staff and the wonderful kitchen staff, they really do make Queenswood a wonderful place for any senior looking for a family type environment. Unfortunately dad is now in palliative care, so our time at Queenswood has come to an end.. Thank you to all of you keep up the good work!

I have had the privilege of being a vendor at Queenswood's annual Christmas Bazaar twice now and it has been absolutely lovely. The event is well organized. The atmosphere is fun and the people are all friendly and fantastic! Everyone, vendors, residents, and guests, all have a great time. I am already looking forward to next year!

A breath of fresh air in the Ottawa retirement community, Queenswood Villa is a hidden gem tucked away in Orleans. Having worked in and around countless retirement and long-term care facilities, this one stands out. One foot in the door and you already know they care. They pay attention to the little things, while not neglecting the big picture. It smells like home and you are welcomed by hard working and competent staff. I had the pleasure of meeting their resident ambassador who ensures everyone feels cared for and included. Seeing residents so involved and buzzing about is unfortunately not super common, but here seems to be the norm :) keep up the great work!

My mother moved to Queenswood Villa 2 months ago from another Retirement Residence that was almost twice the cost. We chose Queenswood because of the home like atmosphere, being all on one level and because it was a smaller residence and close knit community. She has thrived here and is very comfortable and content. The staff are all amazing and treat the residents with such compassion, dignity and respect and provide such excellent care. I would highly recommend Queenswood to anyone looking to find the perfect home for their parent or loved one.

I have visited the Community to visit veterans of the Canadian Forces and RCMP, and surviving spouses, on behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion. During these brief visits I was really impressed by the general happiness of residents, the comfortable arrangement of furniture and, above all, the great spirits of all the staff encountered. The overall setting was like a comfortable familyThe coordinator of these events is Lorraine Sigouin. She did a great job of planning and coordinating despite challenges of the Xmas season and Covid in our area. She was on first name and friendly basis with all staff and residents that I saw.Makes me sort of comfortable in thinking of my wife and me in moving on in age and considering our own future life options.

We have been visiting the Queenswood Villa for several years and have always found the staff very warm, and professional. You can tell how good a place is when the staff interact with residents as though they are their parents, grandparents. A wonderful environment in which to live.

I began visiting Queenswood Villa Retirement Living in mid 2018 in a Pastoral Care lay ministry with the Divine Infant Parish.Pre Covid a Liturgy of the Word service was provided to those residents wishing to attend usually twice per month. During these past Covid years however, whenever visits were permitted, a rosary recital was chosen to those in attendance within the TV meeting room typically twice per month.The residents are always thanking us on our departure and so appreciative of our visits.The Activity Director, our main contact in regards to scheduling changes, Covid protocols etc., is and along with all the staff welcoming us and most willing to help and remind those residents wishing to attend our prayer session.It’s always a pleasure in our ministry when visiting Queenswood Villa in such a friendly and appreciative environment.
