Gateway Medical Centre

Gateway Medical has been my family doctor for sometime. Dr. Lawrence is an excellent doctor. He is empathetic and listens to you. He does not brush you off and is always willing to lend a helping hand. He has been taking care of my family and has been fast and prompt. I highly recommend Dr. Lawrence and the other doctors at Gateway.

my family doctor is the best- Sharmila Yang .My mom and I are lucky to have her she goes above and beyond never rushes and cares. Thanks Sharmila for all the care you give to us. We are truly grateful!!!

My acupuncturist, Moses Ling, did a great job treating my PTSD after a horrific car accident a few months ago. He’s patient, professional, and goes above and beyond. Thanks to him, now I am able to enjoy life like I used to do.

Had an appointment with Dr. Ailin Li and was left feeling disappointed. She was not friendly and came off a little rude. I had some questions and she made me feel... dumb for asking? She made me feel quite flustered when I was asking for a prescription refill as I forgot the name, but I would hope that she could look through previous doctor notes and prescription history to find the one I was talking about or recommend an alternative? She made me feel rushed and did not seem like she cared about my concerns.

Awful front staff. Tried to make an appointment and was told I'd hear back within 24hours. 1 month later and still nothing. I had to follow up and they only had availability for 2 weeks later after that. 6 weeks from when inquiring to see the doctor... It's a shame because dr Yang is great. New location made parking horrendous. You need to park in other complex spots and hope you don't get caught. Their lot is always full.

Receptionist that worked here on 03/25/2021 - 3pm is extremely insensitive, unprofessional and should not be holding that position. Booked my mother a phone appointment last week, appointment was yesterday, Doctor never called my mother. Phone never rang. Checked the recent calls in her phone, nothing. Checked voicemail nothing. Called today 03/25 to ask why the Doctor never called. Receptionist said nope the doctor called twice, and you’ll be charged $10 for a no show fee. Explained that there was no missed calls whatsoever, and still insisted on the $10 fee. No empathy whatsoever, very insensitive. My mother is 67 years old. I asked to speak to a manager, and she said that’s a waste of time. Unbelievable! It’s not about the $10 but the principle, and sadly this employee is terrible at her job. You should not be a receptionist. Phone ettiquette is horrendous for this young lady.

Dr Yang has been my familys dr for 3 generations. My son currently sees Dr Felix. Dr felix is a great dr for sure however there receptionist need to stop booking appointments and then having people sit in the drs office for hours. My appointment was for 340 for my sons flu shot Iam currently still sitting at the drs office and its over 5pm. Try having an impatient 5 year old and then having the reaceptionist tell you theres nothing they can do. Im sitting in the room waiting and all i hear is phone calls being made out. Are phone appointments priority before tending to the patients in the office? There is nobody here and my son and I havr been waiting for over an hour just to get our flu shots. Better off going to a walk in clinic and getting seen by a dr. Absolutely furious right now!! Not the first time they made an appointment and saw me an hour later in thosr cases thr office has beenn busy this time theres nobody here. Being a long time patient I feel so disrespected today this is ridiculous!!!!!

Oh my goooodd their voicemail is soooooo unprofessional. I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to have a 5 year old record the voice greeting for a medical office but I am now deaf in one ear. It’s loud, annoying, slow and has all the pauses a kid would make when reading script. Unbearable.

Why Dr. Lawrence Yang has less time in the clinic. I hardly make an appointment with him. It's been a long time.

I've been going to Dr. Yang since I was a little girl, and have recently changed to Dr. Felix in my late adolescence and early adult years. Wait times can be slow, but that's not up to the doctor's to decide so I understand. Dr. Felix is my personal favourite. I've heard experiences with other doctor's and it's very subjective. I always suggest Felix to my family just to be safe.
