Orchid House by Elevate Rooms

Avoid this place. We booked right before Christmas because our flight got cancelled again. After paying we went to check in and no one was around. Everything locked up and the phone number to call them was dead. No communication, no refund. Appears to be a scam. We had to stay somewhere else. They had no problems taking our money though……Theives

The one star is for cleanliness. The hostess was short and rude, kept you waiting at the door, no soundproofing in any of the rooms including hostess home downstairs. In my booking it intimated I had a full private kitchen in room. Not only was it a share kitchen with all other guests, there was an oven and hotplate, but barred off, as does not have a food licence. Surveillance camera in kitchen watching you. Must take any hair out of the shower drain and put in the bin and on it goes....

It's unfair to those who rated one star！！The housekeeping lady, Kelly, is nice and kind. I believed those who rated one star was misunderstanding. I and my wife stayed there for 8 nights and long enough to gave a subjective rating. The house was clean and well organized. You just treated yourself home. It comes with everything that a traveller needed. Kelly was patient to explain the facilities provided and gave you all the information for daily use.The closest shopping centre is Seafair only 12-15 minutes on foot. The nearby bus station is only 7-8 minutes away. The no. 406 bus interval is only about 15 minutes. It's convenient to and from Brighouse Skytrain station. The neighborhood is quiet and safe.I am sure to select here again on my next visit to Vancouver. This B n B deserves a FIVE Stars rating.

I had forgot a brand new basketball jersey here that cost close to $200 wore it at most twice and after staying here realizing I forgot it we were willing to pay her to ship it but she just would not pickup her phone after calling her more then 5 times over atleast a 3 day basis on top of that wouldwake up in the middle of the night to go get a drink from the tap she designated in our space and she would be sitting in a chair beside it which was super creepy

False advertising, lies, rude and dishonest host. Spy camera overlooking dining table and microwave area; were cameras in the bedroom also? Advertised facility's not there or blocked off. Pictures versus reality are incongruent. Oven, balcony, dining room, restaurant, lounge all blocked off/not available. The room we booked indicated a private kitchen. It is a shared kitchen with no oven available and all areas are blocked off (inaccessiable) except bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. No car parking as blocked off with a huge skip, and had to park down the road a way. Host did not introduce herself at all through stay. Started off, while we were kept on door step with door closed, implying we did not have a booking (had paid through booking.com) and went through dates and other guests names at front door. Stated that she had too many messages from us. We had messaged regarding two covid testing kits that we had asked and she had consented, to be delivered to address (as from overseas and needed for forward travel in Canada). Host denied receiving them, then found an image she had sent us of the first package, so backtracked her statement hours later. Again, emphatically denied second parcel received...late at night was discovered sneaking up the stairs with second parcel and was startled, as was caught (UPS had delivered two days prior). Would not give a sheet to cover thin plastic covered mattress until begged to do so. We then asked for a blanket and she pointed to the thin decorative throw at end of bed. Bought a thin duvet reluctantly. We did not ask for a pillow, as too hard. We had emailed two weeks prior regarding an extra person, which Host had agreed to supply an extra mattress. Instructed to clean out our own shower drain. English appeared to be limited and charades until she wanted something or angry, then English improved dramatically. Host had to be asked to keep her voice down to allow others to sleep, when she was found upstairs in guest area, sneaking around. Host forced me to fold another guests laundry in front of her, as host was not listening when I told her it was not mine! She allowed me to stop when I held up underwear and stated again, it was not mine. Host was angry, unprofessional, unaccommodating and doing the typical 'don't understand' routine of pretending not to understand, to get out of things and hope that others will let things go, as too hard. Host English drastically improved, when yelling at me. A very unfortunate and angry host, when too much communication. Just wants in and out and your money.

Smile, you're on candid camera! Walls paper thin.

Rude host who spies on you with her cameras, situated all over the house. Signs all over the place with all the Do Not's'. Very thin thin walls. You can hear the guests next door burp etc. It is no more than an expensive Hostel with no cooking facilities. There is a kitchen but you cannot use it as she tells you "the regulations'

The host is friendly and nice but speaks very little English and the English she does speak is barely understandable. Rooms are not soundproof and kitchen is shared.

+ The whole house was very clean. We had the possibility to use a fully equipped kitchen, a living room and there was free coffee.- There are 3 rooms and only one has its own bathroom. So we had to share a bathroom with another room.The house is badly soundproofed and therefore we could hear Mr. Nextroom snoring and Mr. & Mrs. Otherroom leaving in the middle of the night (talking, walking, clapping doors...).For someone like us, who only wants to spend one night there in order to catch a flight the next day, the Orchid House is more than okay!For the owner: it would be very useful to receive the doorcode in advance (e.g. by mail or sms).

Best air bnb I've ever stayed. The house is located in a quiet street with spacious room and comfortable bed, I think I've got more than what I paid for
