Leigh Park Off-Leash Dog Area

Good dog park for wet days since it is almost all gravel. It is great that they have fresh water here too. Not a good place on hot afternoons since there is practically no shade. Also, there is only one bench to sit on, a few more would be nice since this is a popular place overall.

This a good dog park as it’s got a section for little dogs and a section for big dogs so if your little guys don’t do well around the big ones, you’ll be alright. Good place to bring a ball. Everyone keeps it nice and clean and people in the park are always friendly. Lots of grassy area around the dog park and you walk them around there as well.

Wonderful gravel gated area with large rocks, benches, running water, and a big/small dog section. The small dog section is not as big as the other main area, and there are parts were a tiny dog can squeeze through the fence (other dogs have probably tried finding through), but there are larger rocks you can place to stop the dog from escaping! Hopefully they fix it soon.There is a grassy by right outside of the fence too, in case your dog prefers to relieve themselves there! Haha

The picture they have posted is not what this park looks like at all. The park is bordered by chain link fence and has been redone so that it is gravelled nicely and very clean and dry. I love this park because there is no mud! It's a massive park with loss of Boulders placed randomly about for the dogs to jump on or jump over, tons of space to run their hearts out. There is a fresh water pump so that you can make sure your pets are always well watered. There is another section for small dogs that is independent of the main park. Love this place!

This is a nice little park overall. Not as big as I need for huskies but does the job when we are in the area. The park is relatively clean but I did see a few piles of poop laying around probably due to the fact that there wasn't a single poop bag dispenser anywhere in sight. You have to be mindful of where you park as one entrance is accessible using only a steep set of steps which is definitely not stroller friendly. There is a watering area for the dogs and a separate small dog area. There were toys and balls left in the park for the dogs to play with which was a nice addition.

Small biking course is a cool addition and can accommodate beginners as well as medium skilled riders. Experienced riders may be bored with it though. Small pop up library and open space to relax and some blackberry bushes to enjoy in the summer. No playground but Leigh School is a 2 minute walk and there's one there. Likewise, there's another larger park 5 mins across the street as well.

Love this dog park, it’s a soft sand/gravel so the dogs don’t get all muddy! There’s always a good group of dogs and people here. I go out of my way at least as a couple times of week to go here with my dog. It’s a nice neighbourhood to walk and there’s a trail nearby too.Only complaint would be there that there isn’t any lights directly on the park. The streetlights next to the park make it semi-visible but dark.

We went there for the first time today as our usual dog park (Shaunessy) is closed overall our dogs had a lot of fun, however we found the energy there to be very judgemental. I don't know if it was us, or the breed of our dogs ( both are pitbulls who are both very friendly and very well behaved) but the people there just seemed to avoid us and our dogs at all cost. In fact moments after arriving, everyone that was there left almost immediately, and some people left as soon as our older dog showed interest in playing with theirs or even called their dogs anytime they tried to play with ours. If you have a pitbull staffy or mix of any of those breeds I do not recommend coming here.

Both small dog and big dogs areas very well maintained. On street parking.

Great spot to exercise your dogs. There are always lots of nice people to chat with and lend put poop bags when you forget. There's not always some there provided by the city.
