Pratt's Professional Chimney Service

Our chimney was in dire need of help. We contacted Pratt for a quote. From start to finish, we were very happy with the work done. Jed was an artist when it came to the chimney rebuild and Steve, Brittney and Angie were great to work with. We would recommend anyone looking for masonry/chimney work to contact Pratt!

We had a leak bringing water through our kitchen ceiling, but the exact source of the leak was unclear. The roof had been replaced. We had a friend, an architect with field experience look at the roof and he felt the chimney was the problem. We contacted chimney companies for estimates. We received estimates from other companies, but Brad, from Pratt’s, was the only one who suggested we do a water test to pinpoint the leak source. One guy went into the attic of our ranch house, crawled in very narrow space and found the leak sources and path of water while the other guy soaked the chimney with our hose. They were here for quite awhile tracking all the leaks.Brad gave us an estimate immediately, for all the repairs. The amount was in line with other estimates. There was a $150.00 charge for the water test, but it was deducted from the estimate, so there would be no charge if we used Pratt’s for the repairs.When we told Brad we had a vacation planned about six weeks out, and we were worried about leaving if the leaks were not fixed, he called his office and asked the scheduler to call us and set up the date so it would be completed before our vacation. She did call the following morning (a Saturday).The work was completed yesterday. Brad and another associate arrived when they said they would, completed the work, and then walked me around to show me exactly what was done. He had already showed my husband earlier. We had a clay flute replaced with stainless steel liner from chimney to basement, new rain caps, crown sealing. One small thing also stood out. Brad asked for a vacuum cleaner so he could clean the carpeted stairs going to our basement. He had tracked in some leaves from outside. He cleaned the whole carpeted area not just the few leaves.From the first contact with Pratt’s on the website, where I requested an estimate, and through the entire process, everyone was professional and efficient. Brad is an excellent representative for the company, very personable and efficient.We would recommend Pratt’s... it was a good experience during a very stressful time.

Our family moved to the grater Racine area and purchased a home that needed a little bit of repairs to get back to fully functioning. Our chimney was one of the first things we needed fixed. I had many companies come and give quotes and Pratt’s was on the upper end of the bunch. However, I almost never pick the top guy or the bottom guy so Pratt’s was right I my range.I contracted with them to complete a few things including water proofing the outside, inspecting inside and out, replacing the cap, and installing some new guards on top to keep the animals out.When the two employees showed up they were very professional and respectful. Completed the job in one day and a follow up to remove tools. I asked TONS of questions to feel them out and they were not stumped by one of them and they had tons of suggestions I would not have considered.Although I hope I won’t have to fix anything further on the fireplace in the future, if I do I will definitely be calling Pratt’s.

Pratt’s Chimney did an inspection for us before we bought a home in a North Shore suburb. They notified us after scanning the interior of the chimneys, that pretty much all the chimneys needed repair and liners. It was a surprise, but thankfully we learned the condition of the fireplaces and negotiated a credit with the sellers. We called Pratt Chimney back after we bought the house. It was easy to book them through their office.Tyler and his crew were great! It was a big job with special equipment, but they got it done on time, and with a smile each day. Good communication throughout the project with Tyler. We asked them to check the patio chimney in case it was not in good shape, and we decided to fix that too. I was thinking we could fix it later but Tyler mentioned we would have to pay for the equipment again. I’m glad he said that so we could nip all the problems in the bud. The house was kept clean on the inside as well as out.Pratt lived up to their good reputation of qualified professionals, which I heard of from other contractors who also mentioned the chimneys in the house had problems. It was not a patch-up job. We can rest assured that we can now operate our chimneys safely in the new house! I would refer this company to anyone needing small or major chimney repairs.

We had another company come out and told us that we needed about $1,200 in repairs and chimney cleaning. to our fireplace and were told that without the rpairs we would just have a nice ornament. We then called Pratt's for a second opinion (regret not calling them first). Brad came out and inspected the fireplace and chimney. Brad stated that the chimney did not need cleaning anf that the fireplace was safe to use. Brad was totally honest and professional and I would recommend Pratt's to anyone that needs chimney service, they're GREAT!!

All I wanted was a rain cap to keep the water out of my chimney. They charged me $160 for an inspection (okay fine I guess it probably needed to be looked at.) Then they gave me an estimate for $10,000 worth of repairs and left. I asked for a cost breakdown of parts and labor and they never responded. If you’re going to ask customers to pay that kind of money, at least respond to their questions.

Austin Pratt fixed our chimney in the cold and snow. He responded to our call quickly and professionally. It is hard to find good companies in today's service industry. Pratt's Professional Chimney Service is one of the few awesome companies you can find. We were very happy with our outcome and have already called them back for additional work.

A company that has integrity. Job done right and professionally and if there is a problem will address in a timely manner and stand behind their work. I would highly recommend them for your fireplace needs. Reasonable cost when compared to other companies, care taken when doing the projects with a lot of owner input to oversee things are done properly. I wish I had as much faith in other companies for services as I do in Pratts Chimney.

We had Pratt's Professional Chimney Service line and cap the chimney in our 1899 Victorian home. From the first time we talked with Steve and Brad, they instilled confidence with a can do attitude tempered by practical expectations. Brad, Ethan and Otto lined three flues going to our boiler and water heater and two woodstoves. They arrived when they said. They did their work in a courteous, personable and professional manner. They kept us aware of any changes in the plan. I would definitely hire them again. Top marks.
