Costco Vision Center

I have always trusted the Costco brand.I have shopped at Costco for more than 20 years.When I realized that it was time for glasses, the Optometrist there was my first choice.I am both disappointed and angry. I was treated poorly and my concerns were dismissed.I was given a prescription for glasses and told to let my cataract worsen.I went for a second opinion, my cataract is as bad as it gets and I will be having surgery this month.This doctor (Dr. B) should be reviewed.The people working at the Vision Centre were lovely and as helpful as one can expect.Dr. B was not.Shame on him!Sincerely,Kim W

Had an eye exam with Dr. B and it was a quick but good exam! He was able to use lenses to do a pair of make shift glasses so I could fully see how my prescription would be. Mona and Dr. B were very friendly! The optical staff was very helpful and friendly as well! I found a pair of glasses and got them ordered very quickly! Overall, very good experience!

I absolutely love the optometrist here! He has such a sense of humour and he is just great overall! I’ve been with him ever since I met him. He even took care of me by squeezing me into a packed schedule for an emergency appointment concerning something that was happening with my eye. I’ll be forever faithful as long as he stays

This review is about Costco Optical and not about the optimetrist there (Dr. Phillip Boulos is an amazing eye doctor and he conducted my exam flawlessly, and even gave me valuable advice).My issue is with the eyeglasses I received was: the frames they provide are not very durable; the lens I had received from them had significant chromatic aberration; the placement of the glasses optical center is higher than usual that made even the slightest head movement cause a distortion; and the bottom 2 thirds of the lens were always distorted (papers were curved).This isn't a big issue, AFAIK Costco Optical's warranty covers that along adjustments. What annoyed me is the fact that the optician seemed annoyed at me for not liking the glasses". After having explained the issues that I had with the glasses

Optometrist pushed extra services claiming they would be covered by my insurance. They were not.

This review is about the Costco prescription glass purchase experience not the independent Optometrist who is excellent. Of the many glasses I have purchased over the years Costco is the worst quality. When one lense was scratched within a matter of a few months from purchasing, I was informed they would have to replace both lenses vs the scratched one for over $300. I was told I could talk to a Manager in a few weeks when they return from holiday. The service is subpar. Go for your exam here and head directly out to another eye glass store. Save yourself the time, money and headache.

Have been here three times (myself, my son and my daughter) at both Dr. B's clinic and the vision center to purchase the frames and lenses.Dr. B (and his wife, the receptionist) were always friendly and informative when answering my questions. Others have mentioned that she can seem rude on the phone but (and I hope she doesn't mind me saying this) that might be attributable to English being her second language and she's not 100% adept at using higher, more formal registers used in customer service (as any of us who are a capable but not native speaker of a language can attest to). She was always smiling and friendly in person with my children and me.I've also never had any issue with the glasses I received from Costco. In fact, they currently provide better sight than glasses I've received from other opticians at other stores (whether due to the optician or optometrist at those locations, I can't say).

I highly recommend Costco for vision care. Dr. Bolous is a wonderful, knowledgeable, kind human. He got my eye exam done quickly with ease and my new prescription lenses are perfect. The prices are the best I've seen as well. Thank you, I will always go here for my family's vision needs.

I was extremely disappointed. The service was rude. Even though the pharmacy accepts third-party billing (i.e. will bill your insurer so you don't have to pay upfront, the optical department does not. I was told that it was difficult to set up. If they already do it in one department, how difficult can it really be to set it up in a second? I will not be renewing my membership.

They never answer the phone. The glasses are cheap and the lenses are not very good quality.
