Steadfast Counselling

Kayla at Steadfast Counselling has gently guided me through the most transformative year of my life. I feel more grounded and deeply connected to myself than ever before, and owe much of that to the work I've done in my sessions with her. Kayla have given me the space to explore, reconcile, and love parts of me that I thought were completely unloveable; in doing so, she has become a cherished light in my life.

My partner and I have been working with Kayla for quite some time now. Not only has she been instrumental with the growth of our relationship, she has also played a huge role on our growth as individuals. She has a way of helping us dig a little deeper and uncover what it is that we are feeling exactly in that moment. She has a gentle way of helping us tap into our past and helping us heal any leftover pain. I am so grateful for walking through her door that very first day. I am also extremely grateful that we have been able to continue our sessions remotely due to Covid-19. Thank you for everything, Kayla, you are an absolute gem!

I have been seeing Jennifer Harder as my counsellor for almost two years now and I can honestly say at times I don't know where I would be without her support and guidance. When I look back at the version of myself who first walked through her door I feel amazed and proud at how far I have come and how much I have grown. As someone who is not quick to trust, be vulnerable or let my guard down, Jennifer was very patient with me, knowing it was important to me to take things at a slower pace, during that time she always provided support, warmth, understanding, empathy, and a safe space to let me explore my emotions. As time progressed Jennifer has not only helped me learn about myself, my needs, my anxiety, and how past trauma still shows up for me, but she has also helped me to challenge myself, step out of my comfort zone when needed, and has provided me with hope for the future. Jennifer is a very skilled counsellor who genuinely cares about her clients and takes the time to really get to know them and their needs.

Steadfast enabled me to unlock my proverbial basement and tap into parts of my past that lay dormant for decades. We found Ross Dixon at steadfast after doing several interviews with counsellors in Vancouver to see who would be a right fit for our relationship. Ross Dixon is attuned, dialed in, caring, understanding, empathetic, and gently challenges our schemas when necessary to do so. We absolutely love how he holds space for us in the room.

I was a shell of a human with no regard for my own well being, and feeling undeserving of good, when I first decided to seek counselling. I was skeptical, thinking my whole life, that I'm not in need of something like counselling.From our very first interaction, the 15 minute consultation, Kayla met me with nothing but compassion, consideration, listening and understanding, and has continued consistently ever since. This is something I don’t think I have fully experienced with anyone before, and I can’t express my gratitude for her.I value our time together and am so appreciative of Kayla and the space we share and the guidance she provides me.
