Glamour Secrets | Halifax Shopping Centre

I walked in two days ago and asked about an advertised price for a wash/cut/style. The lady behind the counter acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. I pointed to the tv screen behind her, and I asked, “is that pricing for all hair lengths?”. Again, she acted like she had no idea what I was asking. So, I pulled my hair out of my bun, and asked, would that price be for my length of hair? My hair is very long, and other salons charge extra for long hair, so I wanted to make sure. She replied , “yes...but we are fully booked for today”. I assured her I did not want to come in today. Then, I expected her to ask when I wanted an appointment, but she just stares blankly at me. It was then it dawned on me that, and I’m not sure why, they were not interested in my business. I just said, “ok, thank you” and walked away. I was so happy that day because, after being a mom who only focuses on her kids for so many years, I decided to treat myself with a new phone, and haircut, and some new shoes. What better place than the mall? Not only did she ruin my good feeling about my gift to myself...but now I’m searching for a reason why my business was not “good enough” for them? I could have asked for an appointment, but it was painfully clear they did not want me there. I was dressed like a mom: shorts, a tank top, and a zippered sweater. My shoes were scuffed, but I didn’t mind since I knew I was getting new ones. I wasn’t acting crazy or weird. I was just happy and excited to get something new, for once. I hate to bring it up, but the only reason I can come up with is my nationality, or skins colour. I will never go back.

DO NOT WORK HERE Awful Company. Management is horrible. Over charges for products buy elsewhere.

Sales clerk knew I was looking for leave in conditioner for colored hair she sold me one that said for untouched natural hair. Was first talking about shampoo also for colored hair. She stood around like I was going to steal something. Never go back. Halifax Shopping Center NS

Love this shop and can’t beat the knowledgeable staff. I’m regrowing my hair after cancer treatments and Velda has gotten me through it all! From my pre-treatment cut to managing my short hair now, her advice and skill has kept me looking my best. I don’t love having short hair, but after seeing Velda a few days ago, a stranger stopped me on the street to compliment my cool hair. Made me feel like a million bucks and for all of that, I’m grateful.

The lovely woman Meranda, helped me find exactly what I needed, and was so kind. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had in a retail store. I will definitely be coming back!

Worst haircut/wash experience I've ever had. Rough hands, cold water rinse, choppy, uneven ends - and layers, which I never asked for. It's going to take a long time for my hair to recover from what the stylist did. Do yourself a favour and go literally anywhere else.

Went in to have a simple shellac manicure removed that was done elsewhere. Acetone was only on fingers for less than 5 minutes and the shellac was then peeled off each nail (it was clear the shellac had not been broken down by the acetone at all before attempting to peel it off) resulting in damage to all of my nails and a complete mess afterwards. Nails were not filed and there was shellac remaining on multiple nails after I left. I have had shellac manicures for years and have never had my nails look like this after a removal. Would not recommend and will not be returning for any services.

My first visit to Glamour Secrets was after we had lost our home in the wildfires. The lady with the beautiful curly hair waited on me and we talked. I was overwhelmed just thinking where do I start?! She was above and beyond kind. My next visit, my mom had gone with me to buy more hair products. that lovely lady was there and remembered me! We chatted and hugged before I left. I will be buying all of my products there from here on out.

The return policy at this store is terrible. A young salesgirl convinced me to try a product. When I got it home I found it was a terrible greasy version of dry shampoo. I just wanted to exchange it for my usual product. And they refused. They were rude and The inexperienced manager had no idea how to conduct good customer service for repeat customers. I would avoid this store at all costs. Go to the head Shoppe or Sephora for your styling needs. They always stand by their products and returns. I’m shocked this place is still in business in the shopping centre.

Mom and I went in to get our nails done and left very happy. Reegan was lovely and friendly and we love our nails! Emily was super helpful and knowledgeable on products for my moms hair and she left very pleased with what she got.
