We have used Up North Automation several times in the past and Reid always does a great job. You can tell while planning the project and watching the work be done that he truly cares, and the end result is always extremely clean and professional. I would recommend them to anyone and will continue to use them in the future

Our company tasked Reid to come up with a vision system to check the automotive part we are currently making. There were at least 12 different defects that show up on a casted part. He designed the robot arm to hole the part at about 10 different angles so the camera can take a photo of the are of the part to ensure the defect is not present. If the part passes the visual requirement the part is set in the area of a good part with a green light. If the part has a defect it is taken out of the area and dumped in a plastic tote with a red light. The robot checks 6 pieces and goes home waiting for 6 more pieces. The robot checks the part in less than about 2.5 minutes. The cast trim tap and tumble cannot supply the robot fast enough for the robot. The scrap is pushed back to the cast process to get corrected. So the scrap is greatly reduced. This work was done perfectly and with out any time constraints.

UpNorth performed a recent electrical installation for a project. They were able to manage much of the installation with minimal supervision, capable of working with little more than the electrical schematics. They also found and helped solve errors in the prints. I highly recommend them and will use again for future projects

To properly review Up North , they need to add a star (or 2)!We had a manufacturing crises with an older piece of equipments CPU that failed and obsolete. We didnt know what to do until our electrician gave us Reid's name. Up North Automation is the company to call with any manufacturing computer control/PLC issues. I have never worked with a more knowledgeable company when it comes to fixing Software, Hardware or anything else in your manufacturing process that has gone down. They are thorough and will address your problems and fix them in a timely manner; being hyper aware that every minute you are down, it is costing your company money as well as reputation! The most professional genius I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Reid worked on a machine at my facility and went above and beyond any expectations I had. Ried doesn’t do this work to make ends meet. Ried does this because it’s his calling. I dealt with him at work but want to actuallly pick his brain now on all sort of things. As a guitar player his knowledge of circuitry is so far beyond what I as an amateur pedal builder might have it’s crazy.
