Egg rolls are way different in a very positive way. More money but more better. You get what you pay for. Order them for takeout and ready real fast

This next review that you are about to read is long but it is Golden...UNLIKE the restaurant.Golden Palace" is more deserving of a name such as "Participation Medal Palace".First time and last time to eat here...DO NOT ORDER HERE if you expect quality "Chinese food"

Amazing if you just get the egg rolls. Haven't tried the entire menu but everything I've tried is small for the price and mediocre, but that's not why you get from here. Best use is getting the cut in half rolls to put on a platter at a get together unless you can just eat a meal entirely consisting of egg rolls.

It was recommended that I should make a stop here for egg rolls and I'm happy that I listened. The egg rolls are large and have a great crisp, with a meaty filling that's second to none. The open burnt ends add something special to The taste that I've never had anywhere else. We added chicken and spring rolls to our order to have a little sample. You could taste the chicken in the chicken rolls, which was awesome. The veggies in the spring rolls were fresh. The plum sauce could have been more flavorful but worked well with these rolls. It's a little oily but you're not getting these as a healthy snack. Definitely give these rolls a try.

Sharing a photo here of a recent dinner with my Dad who has been a loyal GP customer since they first opened. I'm not sure what more needs to be said about the egg rolls, but the fact that I often willingly pay over a hundred dollars to have them shipped should tell you that they don't mess around. Excellent chicken fried rice, ribs, and chow mien. A staple for anyone from Ottawa, and worth a stop every time I'm in town. I love eating here as the decor adds so much to the experience. Lovely people, and I dare you to phone in an order from over a kilometre a way and try to get to the restaurant before it's ready...

Excellent egg rolls, nothing else. The “plum sauce” was a watery, flavourless dish of orange liquid the consistency of Jell-O. Just buy it from Food Basics like everyone else, guys. The spicy beef with green pepper was a bowl of celery stalks and raw onion in a sauce that was watery at best. I spooned it over the rice and it evaporated as quickly as liquid on the surface of Mars.

These people have the best egg rolls in the world. They have been making them for 61 years and they ship them all over North America. I bought two dozen at $2.50 each. They are large, not full of shoots but a meat mixture and not pinched off at the ends. I am a big man and used to large meals. Three of these and I was done. Didn't have any other food other than their Won Ton soup which was also memorable. Service was efficient and the decor was old but clean.

General tao chicken was very bad and doesn’t even look or taste like general tao chicken. They gave us our boiling hot food in small plastic containers which is very unhealthy. The amount of food we got for $48 was very small compared to other Chinese restaurants. The chow mein was not good at all and didn’t have any noodles in it. The rice was hard and bland. We ended up throwing the food in the garbage. Will not be going there again.
