Central Saanich Home Hardware

Great store that really has a local/small town vibe. It has a little bit of everything. I built a house last year and I’m about 1200 meters from this store. Very handy and staff is friendly. They have a mixed demographic with respect to employees, it’s nice to see young and older people working there; a true representation of the community.

Almost as good as the small-town hardware stores I used to frequent in my younger days. Friendly and helpful staff and scads of useful 'stuff'.

The store and staff are fine and helpful, but if you want a truly pleasant shopping experience at this Saanichton B.C. Home Hardware, and you bike to get there, be prepared. There are no proper bike lock ups. There is an ineffective concrete one in a corner of the parking lot, not in a particularly visible spot, that I guess be 30 or more years old and only locks the wheel of your bike. So I locked my bike to the only (to me) obvious metal gate next to but not encroaching on a handicap parking spot. I did not see the sign saying no bikes are to be locked on it. I was not stopped as I went into the store but instead, as I cashed out after being in the store for a maximum of 5 or 6 minutes.These are modern times with modern bikes with quick release wheels. Also with these modern times, we have Global warming gas emission concerns and the price of gas at $2 per litre. Rather that trying to understand my position, as a so-called valued customer, I was faced with two staff members who tried to argue me out of my concerns.My thoughts are that Home Hardware is not poor and has all the items necessary to put together a more effective bike lock up station that will give it's biking customers a more happy experience than the one I just had. 11 March 2022 Liz Russ

Really helpful staff. They carry the odds and ends that bigger store don't bother to deal with

It's a running joke in my house that Home Hardware is my favourite store, but it's true! It's very rare that I don't find what I'm after for home use or for my business. The staff are friendly and helpful and the pricing is fair. It's also very convenient that this location is right next door to Grant's. The front parking area can be a bit tight but there's lots of parking in the rear. I've been going to Home Hardware since I was a tiny kid picking up parcels at the mail desk at the Sooke location and I'm so glad to have a replacement store in my new community.

The staff I have spoken to are amazing. The guy in the paint section I spoke to helped me decide what I was going to do, with my frugal ways and options running through my head. I asked questions and he definitely helped me buy what I needed. I treated my new shed with green stain Because I got it for free and I hate the colour. I wanted to somehow see what I could do to change the colour. he helped me decide what I needed to do in the cheapest most efficient way until the spring when I can put the coat on I want. The wood treatment will still remain but the green should be significantly muted.Thank you home hardware team

Have made good use of this hardware store since we moved back to the Island five years ago. Great staff to deal with. They will take the time to help you find what you need. We have bought a wide variety of stuff" from them ranging from step ladders

Got the lawn chair I wanted at a reasonable price

Great service, great selection! I am almost always surprised that Home hardware stores have almost everything one would need for fixing/repairing ones home! My preference over the “big box” stores!

Like the store, bigger than expected, got cute decor items. Bit pricy compared to other stores with same type of items.
