The Beer Store

This is a moderate size Beer Store, not tiny like the one on Edinburgh Road. They have some beers on display...just take a case from the display and take it to to the checkout. Of course, **only a few are on display** and you have to ask for any others from the cashier who can get it for you.Staff are fine but not many of them. When people are bringing back numerous bottles, it can be a long wait in line until they take back the ones you are bringing. Such is life at any Beer Store.

Going on a long bike ride??Beer carbs & apples with a granola bar are my preference of choice, together they are great to keep me energized for hours, try it..

I don't know where their beer comes from, but every time I buy a full case, it has been opened. Most recently, got a full case that a lot of the cans are somehow dinged, and all the cans are covered in dried on beer. I have to wash each and every can I am getting from this case. It looks like they are putting together cases of cans that were part of damaged cases. Paying full price for the case, so I don't want salvaged cans - rather buy from the store on Municipal, where this has never happened ( as opposed to every time I got a case from this location ).

Very clean, well organized, friendly staff

The have things setup here pretty good despite having to deal with covid restrictions. If you are returning empties do everyone a favour and count and sort your load before making the store employees do it and wasting everyone's time in line. Cold beer selection is kinda weak unless you like the major brands.

Visited the beer store today with my husband. Walked up to the counter where 3 associates were having a conversation. Nobody looked at us or acknowledged us and we were standing right in front of the girl. My husband asked for 6 Moosehead bottles and the girl gave us the total and rolled her eyes and walked to the back. When she came out she asked very rudely debit or credit which my husband replied credit. The girl then started to drink her drink and go on her phone. The tap wasn't working so I tried to use my card instead. Then the girl said in a very rude tone if it's debit it won't work that's why I asked if it was credit or debit. Then I replied with are we bugging you?" Then in a sarcastic way she said no no and looked away. This is absolutely disgusting customer service. My husband and I felt like we were "interrupting" a casual conversation between 3 coworkers and got attitude for it. We will never return again and that girl that was working at 11:34am on May 20th shouldn't be the face of the beer store for customers."

Strangely, a difficult place to buy beer. From the cluster-screwup of the new parking lot to their lack of knowledge of what's in stock the new location is pretty frustrating. And if something is not on the shelf they will get it from the back if they're not busy, but if they are busy they just claim it's not in stock. When I get home and check the inventory online the product has magically appeared. Thankfully there are other options for buying beer in Guelph and I'm increasingly turning to them.

This Beer store location was very clean and well stocked.The staff is very friendly and helpful
