G.E.M Moving

The movers arrived late and demanded a $500 deposit before starting work, which was not communicated when the booking was made.We live in a condo with elevators that are booked strictly by time. We booked the service elevator from 2:30-4:30 but they came at 4:30 and started arguing that they won’t start work unless a $500 deposit is paidThey were also slow and so we let them take the big stuff while my husband moved the smaller bags. After arriving at the other location, they asked for another $675 before finishing unloading. We paid it because they were sitting on their truck but we expected work to be done. If they are charging by the hour, they cannot charge for time resting. We paid $1200 for nothing. All the boxes were labeled nicely and all the rooms were shown and directions given clearly. When I came back after stepping out to give keys to the old landlord for 15 minutes, all the boxes were on the first floor, in the middle and this is a 3 storey unit. Instead of working, they asked for more money or they wouldn’t work. One of them even said “you have money, why you don’t pay”.Worst of all, they broke the drawer of kid’s bookshelf and a desk.

I have used this service many times and while all other times were great. This time was despicable. There was one staff who was quite rude who told me that they don't pay for parking and I should go put money in the parking meter. He was very abrupt when I said it should be covered . He kept on egging me on about not going to park and stating that he could not maneuver the vehicle to the road. He then called the boss and by the time I called, the man on the phone was even more rude and then I got upset. I decided to proceed with a past staff Kirtik who was very nice the last time I used the service. Later on the rude staff, was rude to a pedastrian and almost created a fight on Weston road and I have witnesses. This made me realize that my interaction earlier was truly not me overracting but responding to a person who was looking for trouble!Gary and kirtik were very kind and quick. The admin team responding was also quick

WARNING - One of the worst experiences of my life. I was moving with my girlfriend to a new house and we ended up hiring a couple of guys from ‘GEM’ to help us move. One of the guy was great and respectful, although the other guy(Sukhpreet) was terrible. He demanded extra $$ for nothing, they quoted us less and ended up charging for more. They literally created a scene in the community that we moved, he disrespected and misbehaved with my girlfriend, was on call for most of the time and DID NOT DO ANYTHING and they charge by hour. I had 4 more guy friends who did the majority of the heavy lifting and thank god. If you want to be SCAMMED, then these are the guys for your. Totally unprofessional, BEWARE.

Great, trustworthy team and very fairly priced. Our family used them for 3 BIG moves and they did a phenomenal job. Utmost professionalism, took care with our belongings. On the third job, they came to our rescue - my brother had booked with another mover who showed up over 2 hours late, we weren't sure they were even coming, and I called GEM and they accommodated a same day move, in rush hour, in downtown Toronto. Absolute gems for sure! We will be using their services again!

Sam , lucky and sharan were very experienced they moved my safe from 2nd floor too the basement which was 500 + pounds with no damage . They were right on time excelent job and very affordable price I highly recommend g.e.m moving to ya all and really appericiate for your help today thanks a lot!!!!!

Used them recently for moving apartments in the city. Sunny and Gary showed up on time and handled everything very smoothly and professionally. They were careful, and fast. I had a very pleasant experience with them.

HIGHLY recommend GEM movers. We booked on the “busiest day” of the year apparently. They called the day before to confirm the move and when on route the day of. They showed up on time and took such care with our items (wrapped our big furniture) They literally were running back and forth from truck to house, allllll day in the heat. Never complained, never stopped, were very polite and efficient. I honestly don’t understand some of these bad reviews bc there is no way they are true . We got exactly what we paid for (it’s not cheap - but they work hard for that money !! And It was worth every penny) . I would give 10 stars if I could . Do not hesitate to hire this company !!

quoted me 620 but ended up charging 1200, left marks all along the walls from hitting my furniture against them, and left a lot of dents and marks on my furniture. unfortunately they also showed up 2 hours late, but still charged me for 7 hours of labour even though they only worked for about 3-4 hours. really wanted to like them but unfortunately didn't have a good experience. chose this company because i heard they were more affordable but ended up paying a pretty standard price due to their shady pricing, AND got my walls and furniture messed up.edit: i moved with you on thursday, march 30th. i can post the contract i signed and the number i ended up depositing if you'd like lol
