It’s actually a fantastic store with great staff, great prices and good selection of products. My beef is my wife went Christmas shopping there and now knows exactly how much fly tying materials as well as rods and lines costs. Gents next time the wife is there looking for a gift for me sell her an orvis superfine glass rod for 60 bucks then use my number from your files to call me to settle up the bill. Please remember that all us car, gun and fishing guys lie to our wives about the cost of our hobbies. Other than that 5 stars

I live in the UK but these guys couldn’t have been more helpful when they responded to a question I placed on their YouTube channel regarding suitable floating fly lines for fishing small creeks/streams. Had a great experience at the store, they set me up with everything I needed for a beginner fly fisher. They were able to give me some tips for casting and shared a wide variety of resources. They recommended a couple of different set ups that I went out in the evening and fished and was able to catch some rainbow trout.I would highly recommend BRT and will be a returning customer.Thanks!

Went in to pick up some flies and as a beginner I found out I was picking the wrong flies! The guys at the shop shared with me their knowledge of the bow river and told me exactly what I could use to catch some fish. Caught my very first fish on a fly rod after visiting here. Would highly recommend!!

I've shopped at Bow River Troutfitters on and off over the years and bought flies, fly fishing accessories and most recently in the past three years, all my Fishpond packs (backpack vest and belt system). Before, I lived in the upper northwest of the city it was rare for me to visit Bow River Troutfitters. Since moving downtown, I've found that I'm in more and more often.The staff at Bow River Troutfitters are all knowledgeable and very kind to new and returning customers alike. I would consider myself intermediate in the sport as I'm still learning so much. Elliot has been patient and very open with advice on how to fly fish but also on how to take care of this precious resource.Lastly, if you're lucky, you can even chat with Chris Nichols, a local celebrity who is very kind and generous with his advice on tying flies and fly fishing. He is a surprisingly good salesman and has convinced me to buy most of my current gear.
