Red Cedar Painting

We hired Nick (Red Cedar Painting) to paint our large home and garage. The first day did go well. On the following work day, Nick texted to say a family member was hospitalized and he had no idea when he would be back. The following week he called and said he'd be there the following day. He didn't show up. Three days later he texted to say he'd had vehicle trouble. The pattern became: schedule, cancel, re-schedule, cancel again. The next reason for not showing up was that Sherwin Williams 'messed up' his entire paint order. The time after that, Nick said he wasn't feeling well himself. And then came the excuse that he was too busy to do our job because he had to meet up with other people to write bids. Then he just stopped responding to messages and calls completely. He was the most unreliable contractor we've ever worked with. Finally he and his helper came back and started working again (about 3 weeks after everything was to have been finished). They worked until dark, long after they could see what they were doing. Nick asked for the remainder of the contract price but we said we were holding it back until the job was done, for fear he wouldn't ever return. On the day they finished they again worked until almost dark. I had pointed out many missed areas and Nick went around the house and garage to touch them up. The next day in full daylight it became obvious that Nick had used the wrong color paint on the touch-ups. It looked horrible and we were just sick about it. Despite promise after promise that he would return to make things right, he never did come back.

I had Nick paint 4 bedrooms and paint the vaulted ceilings in my house. His quality of work is great and his prices are quite reasonable. He has been very responsive and has showed up on time to complete the jobs I gave him. Nick informed me that in his past he made some poor business decisions and has been working his butt off to rebuild his reputation. He owned up to his previous mistakes that a couple of these older reviews have discussed, no excuses, just asked for a chance to prove the business man that he is today. I am COMPLETELY satisfied. He has been nothing but punctual, honest, and hard working for me. He even came over on a SUNDAY to finish the job! I plan to also have him do the staining on our woodwork. I highly recommend him for anyone who is looking for paint or stain work. You wont find anyone who provides a better quality job, even if you pay 3x's the amount. Seriously, dont hesitate to give him a call.

Nick is a very professional, friendly guy! He does excellent work quickly and professionally! I hired him to paint my garage to match my house, he showed up and got it done quickly with high quality paint. It matches nicely and looks great!

We recently hired Nick to paint the entire interior of our cabin and he did a great job. He was efficient and communicated with me throughout to give updates and ask questions. He whitewashed the brick surround and painted our wood-burning stove and we love the transformation.

Had nick paint my cabin and did a excellent job always responded if had questions would definitely get him again or recommend him for someone else

I've read the other posting and now I feel embarrassed because I did not do any research before hiring NIck. Same issue as the others and what's funny is Nick used the same excuses to me as others. Don't hire him. He is not reliable and can't be counted on.

My experience with Red Cedar Painting was nothing short of impressive. Nick helped me pick out the colors for my main floor and finished his work in a very timely fashion. Would definitely recommend

I requested a painting bid from Nick Draganowski at Red Cedar Painting for a cabin we had purchased. He had done some painting for me a couple years ago so I called him because I like to support small business owners. He gave me a bid and asked for half of the money down so he could purchase the paint and supplies. He assured me he could complete the job the following week while we were on vacation as it would be easier to paint without any furniture in the cabin. I texted him a couple times during the week to see how it was going and got no response. When we returned a week later and found he had not even been to the cabin both my husband and I called and texted him with no response. I ended up calling a relative of his just to make sure he wasn’t in the hospital with COVID as I couldn’t think of any other reason he would take our money and not answer our calls and I found out he was fine. I texted him that I would have to file a police report if he did not return my money and then he responded Instantly that he would mail me a refund. Well 2 weeks later and still no check he said he would give me cash which did not happen then then he said he would pay me through messenger and that did not happen. Needless to say I am fed up trying to get my money back and don’t want this to happen to anyone else. Don’t trust Nick for painting!
