George Alexander Burrows Memorial
George was a proficient swimmer at a early age and later became a member of the Canadian swimming team for the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. He competed in the 1500m, 400m and 4x200m freestyle. George went on to become the guardian and Supervisor of pools and beaches for the city of Vancouver and held this position for forty years. George Alexander Burrows 1910/1987George and Seraphim (Joe) Fortes both dedicated much of their lives to the beaches of Vancouver.
