This border is only open 8am until 4pm. Both ways. Website and google maps say 8pm. Sign out front says 8pm. Called the Canadian border and they said midnight. Honestly at any time of year just plan for 4pm. We got stuck for the night. Thankfully 1 hotel had 1 room left about 30km south. Long way to drive for a big big let down. Use 4pm as your guide. And Canadian border service if you see this, update your hours online and your signage????? People travelling…honestly just hit the Rossland 24hr and save the worry.

An empty, backwoods border crossing staffed by bored, aggressive agents with nothing better to do than hassle tourists looking to enjoy Canada. Avoid this crossing if you don’t want to be treated like a criminal and interrogated on the side of the road.

The posted hours are wrong! I tried to cross the Nelway border at 6pm Thursday June 23rd as it was listed as open until 8pm on the internet, and I arrived at the border to find it open only from 8am until 4pm!

Burned by the incorrect 8 pm closing time. Had to reroute to Patterson crossing. Went to About > Hours > Suggest New Hours here so hopefully is updated soon.

Closes at 4pm! Do not trust hours posted online. We called to let them know but they denied being able to control or change the online hours posted. We also made a request to Google. Go to Paterson! Open 24/7 and reliable.

ArriveCAN let us set an arrival time after the 4pm Nelway border closing. Also Google times were out of date and said border open until 8pm. Went 2 hours from Nelway to Paterson, they were great.

No real issues….just the standard government questions in conjunction from a sub standard government employee….nothing new under the sun. Enjoy this little crossing in the hours it is open!

Border closes at 4PM, not 8PM. Also, there should be some sort of wifi solution since Arrivecan is an entry requirement, and the border is in a cellular dead zone.
