Response to the review from Ray KlattWe did not have a good experience with these potential puppy owners.There is information missing in this review as well as some statements that are not completely correct. I would like to address this. First of all we did not agree to meet in Calgary. The Klatt's told me that they were coming to Calgary to a friends. They did not travel solely to see the puppies.I offered to bring the pups for them to view if it would make it easier and I planned to do that. However, they did not put any kind of deposit on a pup to hold it. If I made any mistake in this, it was assuming that they would not expect me to just keep the pups for them to look at and turn down a good home from people who were willing to drive to where we were, in this case they came from Calgary, and put a deposit on a pup. That is what happened so there was no longer a female available for them to see. I informed them that the female was gone. They were still interested in seeing the male so I again agreed to come to them. However, the weather was not good but even so I would have met them half way or even more than half way but they turned that offer down. I gave them more info on the male and they put a deposit down on him. After our visit to the vet the male pup was found to have a puppy murmur. They are also referred to as innocent murmurs and that is because that is what they are, innocent. There is no health issue present. These murmurs are due to immature heart valves which is common in a 7 week old pup. They generally disappear by the second set of shots. Our parents are DNA tested for conditions including heart diseases common to the golden retriever breed and in over 30 yrs of breeding we have never had pups with heart conditions. If we had any indication that there was a real health issue he would not have been for sale and they would have been refunded. At this point in time there is no reason to think that this murmur is anything more than what it appears to be. The deposits are non-refundable unless we do not have a pup for you and as far as we were concerned we did have a pup for them. If it was their decision not to take him that was their choice but under these circumstances the deposit was not going to be refunded. If this murmur did not resolve itself and there was a heart issue we would have taken the pup back and refunded all their money. This pup has since been rehomed. The murmur was checked again 1 week after the first finding and it has already diminished and as puppy murmurs go it will be inaudible by the time his second set of shots are due. It maybe interesting to know that 25% of human babies are born with heart murmurs caused by the same thing, immature heart valves. They just grow out of them. We are sorry this situation played out as it did but we believe we followed the proper protocol.

I have been a client of Goldwing Kennels for over 15 years, I've had 3 GSP's trained by Glen and Sandy, I've spent dozens of days at their kennel, and I've recommended them to several other people. They are, without a doubt, one of the best in the business! My dogs are my family, and I am very protective of them. Glen uses a soft hand, but his methods are incredibly effective. If your dog is your best friend, training at Goldwing Kennels will be the best money you ever spend!

Leaving your dog with someone for bird dog training was hard for us to do but it was by far the right choice and the best investment I have ever made .When you watch the dogs with Glen and Sandy you know they are well treated by the way they interact.We learned how to work with other dogs and then with our own to give us tools , consistent communication with the dogs.The range of dogs was amazing in both obedience and our hunting class .This is where you want your training done with your dog

I cannot recommend Goldwing kennels enough. Glen and Sandy are incredible and their love for the dogs that they own and work with really shows. Within one short month of the 3 month training program i have seen such a huge improvement in Atlas’ obedience. I am not exaggerating when I say that this training program is easily one of the best things I have ever spent money on. It is worth worth every single penny.

Absolutely amazing what Glen can do with a dog. Our dog was what we called a terrorist, full of energy and allover the place. Not the same dog after being with Glen.She is a hunting dog and still has lots of energy and a powerful hunter with control.would recommend Glen to anyone that needs a dog obedience trained or hunting trained. He and his wife Sandy have the dogs care and attention upmost in their program, just love to see the dogs progress as I attend training sessions myself.Can't say enough.

Glen and Sandy are amazing! They really love each dog and work hard to make sure your dog has a great learning experience. Their prices are great and you're paying for more than just your dog to learn as they teach you as well. I highly recommend Goldwing Kennels to anyone looking for a great dog training experience!

We have not had a good experience with this breeder!First off, we are near Edmonton. My wife contacted them and we agreed to meet in Calgary on the next weekend to see some female and male pups, after arriving in Calgary we were informed that they had no more female pups. My first strike as I would have preferred a female, but we still agreed to meet the next day since we were in Calgary now. The next day came and due to weather we were still not able to meet, but my wife felt a male would still be a good option so she put $300 etransfer deposit down and we drove back to Edmonton (my second strike). A friend of the breeders from Edmonton, was to drop the pup off in the next week and in emailing back and forth with my wife, we were informed the pup had a slight heart murmur that the breeder and their vet said they were not concerned with. We checked with our vet and she mentioned some concern, but in the pause of emails while we checked with our vet, the breeder had replied that she needed a reply from us because she had others interested in the pup. With this info and being my third strike, we decided against getting this pup and hoped she would return our deposit. So strike 4 was, she did not! and with all our travel and her basically doing nothing I hope they enjoy the $300 Xmas gift.

Great puppy. Confident and exhibiting good retrieving instincts

Glen and Sandy have trained not 1, not 2 but 3 of my dogs over the last 25 years. The first was our chocolate lab. When I was 8 years old, our lab was a Tank he was huge and would run me over when playing in the back yard. He was a completely different dog once he came back from training he was the best and most obedient dog. My 2nd dog was a Saint Bernard 13 years ago. She was energetic and would jump all over you, she came back obedient, sweet and a relaxed dog that could be off leash anywhere with any amount of dogs and distractions and was impressively obedient. Glen after this many decades of training, shows enthusiasm and dedication towards not just teaching your dog but you as well. I will never go to another dog trainer, Glen and Sandy are amazing and dedicated and I can't wait for my dog and I to complete our training this summer.
