Pauline’s Place Ultramar
We have been there a few times over the years. It is clean, the staff are helpful and there have been no significant issues with anything there not times. About the only issues was one of the gas pumps electronics not working thr best one time but that is about it. But we did not have to wait to get our gas and the bathrooms were clean. Overall, we did not have enough time to really explore the place as much as we usually would have.

Absolutely recommend. Fair warning though, unless you're super hungry a one-piece fish and chips is plenty. I ordered a three-piece expecting them to be regular size (i.e. undersized) portions, and was shocked/delighted when what looked like about 3 lb of deep-fried cod was put in front of me. The cod itself was absolutely perfect, light and crispy on the outside and moist and flaky inside. The fries dressing and gravy would rank among the best I've ever had. Even the tartar sauce was definitely not your run-of-the-mill store bought, in fact while I didn't think to ask I'm pretty sure it's their own recipe. Others who were with me we're equally delighted with their meals.

Clerk was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant wasn't open when I visited so no comments there. The store itself could use a bit of updating.

Awesome food... fast, friendly service. Our new go to place for a bite on the road. Huge chunks of turkey in the club sandwich.

Pauline’s Place Ultramar
First time visiting this restaurant was today. Nice and clean. Food was great. Cashier was courteous and friendly(and wore a mask). Waitress was an issue. Ordered donairs. She returned 15 minutes later to inform us they had no donair meat. Seemed very unprofessional. Also was not adhering to covid protocol. She even hugged a customer right in the middle of the establishment. He was dressed in dirt bike attire(complete with mud). We also saw her lifting a slice of bread of a sandwich to see what was on it. While walking to a table. No gloves and no mask.I could go on but I think I have said enough. Sorry but the cons outweigh the pro's. Will not be going back.

No complaints about service. But... I find it strange this place doesn't open until 8 am being in such a major pitstop area of the transcanada highway and yet the ultramar in whitbourne is open at 4:30am.

Fast friendly service and excellent food with big portions, you won't be disappointed, haven't had a bad meal yet. But still working my way through the hole menu! I stop there everytime we drive through that way

Really nice waitress (Wanda). No burgers or porkchops at the time we were there but large ClubHouse Sandwich made up for it. All bread was homemade so that made the portions large. Drinks were really cold . I'll definitely eat here again.
