Clearit.ca Online Customs Brokers

I am on attempt #7 of trying to get clarity on a shipment from the ClearIt team with no luck. My contact was Beverley Latimer, and I have had an extremely difficult time getting any response.

Look else where, I have been using clearit for a few years now, in the past things have been ok, and if you needed to talk with someone you could. Not any more!!! they will not respond to emails, and the online chat que can take days. Most recently I had two identical shipments, on clearit was able process no issues the second is just sitting in limbo. They told me they could not find the paperwork, I resent the paper work and for over a week now they will not respond. Terrible service!!!

I tried to reach Clearit by phone for 8 hours to update my CC info. No call was returned. Got an email to pay the bill which I did and 13 hours later they have not released the shipment. This is the 2nd time this has happened and the company is completely indifferent to my issues. Find another broker!

If I could give negative stars I would. These people don’t know how to run a business. This was my first time trying to have shipment cleared from customs and I let them know that. Every step of the way it felt like I had to initiate for them to do their job. And even at that it was like pulling teeth to get someone to respond or reply to you. If it wasn’t for my sellers keeping me abreast along the way about my shipment, I would not have known what was going on.Literally look anywhere else for a broker because If you use clear it USA, you are just asking for unnecessary headache and frustration. -10(negative 10) out of 10. Would NOT recommend. You have been warned.

Clearit accepted all of our documents & power of attorney, only to drop us and tell us they couldn't import our shipment after the commercial transport carrier had already been dispatched. And then stopped responding to our communication. Which caused an 8 person scramble and a tonne more work. CBSA was not amused or impressed. We called another broker who was able to do it no problem. Hard Pass.

Their online app is a maze. Totally unhelpful for a private one time transaction. Their live agents" correspond at a slow and laborious text system."

Probably the most dishonest service I have ever dealt with. I got a normal quote for a reasonable brokerage fee of $65 and duty/taxes of 13% (HST Ontario). They sent a last minute invoice as my goods are at the border for an outrageous amount so I felt pressured to pay it. They tried to invoice me a 75% rate for Duty/Tax. My goods were worth $1600. I got a last minute invoice for $1300 as my goods were trying to cross the border. Complete scam!!! Do not use them!!!

Very expensive and the staff who chat to you seem bored and completely uninterested. Also they act towards you as if you know exactly what they are talking about, they don't have the patience to explain what to do. I don't know how many times I've had to ask them to explain certain things to me better, and only get answers for acronyms: Send the BL" or "send the CI and ISF" etc.. If you know you're talking to a non-expert person why do you speak in acronyms??? Either they are very stupid people or they do it because they enjoy seeing people confused. Never again in my life with them. They are just a waste of money and time."

They are an ONLINE customs broker and they do that very well. If you expect personal hand-holding for hours by phone or in-person, you might want to go elsewhere. However, if you are hoping for professional expertise, fast and efficient online paper"work

Terrible customer service.Tried for 3 weeks to get in touch with someone, sent numerous emails and reached out many times through their website.Eventually got one response by email, but upon responding, nobody ever followed up.I can’t imagine the nightmare it would be to have a shipment with them since you cannot talk to anyone, ever.Definitely staying away and going with other companies who have a proven track record and actually answer to their customers.
