Vacationing in the area and decided on dinner on the patio at The Original Just for the Halibut Taphouse and Grill. Always a gamble when you’re not from the area but we were NOT disappointed….food was great! But the service was even more than expected! Our server Sara was exceptional….she was super efficient, and so personable…funny, welcoming, absolutely enjoyable…we have not experienced this amazing dining experience EVER! Sara is a fun, life loving person and this world could use many more Saras…thank you for the delicious food, and the wonderful dining …. You engaged with each table in a fun (& funny) manner, and every person felt your contagious love for life! Go pay a visit if you’re vacationing or live in the area! Definite 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What an awesome dinner! Three of us were at JFTH last night and had the baked shrimp, battered pickles, and escargot for appetizers. All three were amazing and it was the best escargot that I’ve had anywhere. For dinner we had halibut and fries, halibut and sweet potato fries, and halibut with caesar salad. Again outstanding. The fries were hot and crispy and the halibut was cooked perfectly and they had malt vinegar for the fish. Our server was friendly, attentive, and the food came out quickly. Just an overall at home feel and made for a memorable night. Thanks

We had a fantastic time at The Original Just for the Halibut Restaurant! Our server Sara was GREAT..we enjoyed her and her quick wit thoroughly..it made our evening... The fish and chips were delicious..fries were great and the desserts were out of this world.... We would definitely return

Amazing fish, food was great, staff spoke a bit too loud amongst themselves but the server was very kind! I definitely reccomend the coconut cream pie

Have been going to JFTH for many many years. I love Halibut. This establishment consistently delivers the best Fish and Chip dinners I've ever had across multiple markets in Ontario. Great staff, great service!

We live in the area and really enjoy this place. The staff is amazing and the food is delicious! The menu is huge and they offer not only the best fish and chips around but sooo much more. Do yourself a favour and give this place a try.-Coach Chris

This unassuming family friendly diner is actually supringly spacious inside. The staff here were fantastic and made you feel so welcomed, the food was great with generous portions and atmosphere was very homey, like you were having Sunday dinner at grandpa's place. They also have a take- out window an extensive beer list. The crab and lobster cake is a must order! The only thing that fell short for me was the fish chowder, it was too thick and a little bland.

Visited last week. The food is amazing. The owners used to be butchers so you can definitely order burgers from a fish and chips place. It was amazing. They also offer a gluten free bun and the desserts are made in house or locally. I can’t wait to go back.
