Little House Montessori School

Both my daughters attended Little House Montessori from the age of 3 and 5 for 5 years and I am so glad we made that decision long ago.They gained so much from this school and I couldn't be happier with the the overall results.Would do it all over again!!

Yesterday my family had the honour of inviting 2 full classrooms of children (ages 5-7 ) to a birthday party at the indoor playground after school. 27 children attended.I was so impressed with how all these children shared a bond and a respect for each other. Even the lady who worked there commented on how well behaved the kids were. Now as easy as it would be to pat ourselves on the back and say what a great job we were all doing, the truth is, the teachers at Little House deserve a lot of the credit. 27 children ran and climbed and played together without one single incident or parent having to intervene or correct a behaviour. When the lights flickered to call them into the party room, ALL came without having to be told twice. They each found a seat and sat patiently at the table and waited to be served pizza and then cake. They quietly conversed and laughed with each other and had great conversations. You could hear each child remember their manners when they were served. None got up and ran around during the meal.It was truly an amazing and beautiful thing to witness. A first for me.It has been crystal clear how the 4 children in my family have benefitted during their years at Little House in so many ways but yesterday was the first chance I had to really appreciate what a fantastic job all of the teachers have been doing. They would have been very proud of their students if they saw how their influences linger on the kids even when the teacher is not present. I can’t thank them enough for all of their dedicated and loving work. Great job!!!!

When I called to get information about the school I found Ms. Joanne Harrison unprofessional and during the conversation she repeatedly emphasized how highly educated" her staff was

We were so very fortunate to have our son attend the Little House Montessori School Elementary Program from grades 1-3.During his time at Little House, our son was cared for in a way that our own family members would care for him, this is truly a little home away from home for your children!Not only did the wonderful teachers and most caring director of the school, Ms. Joanne Harrison take incredible care of our son, this care extended to our entire family including his baby brother and sister and to us as well! They genuinely care and this is felt everyday! The thoughtfulness, time and energy that they put into each of their student's unique needs makes all of our lives better as a result! We will always be very grateful for all that they have done and continue to do for our family!Our son is full of an excitement for learning that brings us such joy! He has such a beautiful inquisitive nature to his soul and this was nurtured and valued at Little House in a way that allows him to move so confidently in all areas of his life!To say that we are thankful is an understatement! We are so very excited as our daughter is about to begin her first year in the Casa program this September and we just know that she will grow more confident and come home excited to share all of the wonderful new discoveries that she has made at her home away from home!

We feel so very fortunate to have found Little House Montessori School. Our daughter had been attending another Montessori school in Toronto, and since buying our first family home in Collingwood last year, we made sure to check out LHMS before registering our daughter at the school. The director Joanne was incredibly welcoming and genuine, and made us and our daughter feel like we were already part of the LHMS family. Joanne is always very quick to respond to emails, and is thorough with her communication with parents.Our daughters’ teachers Ms Sam & Ms Beaver are so kind and caring, and truly support the children in every way. They take the time to tell us about our daughters accomplishments and experiences, and it’s evident that they genuinely care for the children as if they are their own.Our daughter is only 2.5 yrs and looks forward to going into school everyday. She even asks if “it’s a school day?” on Saturdays and Sundays.We cannot say enough great things about LHMS, and look forward to sending our 1 year old once she is old enough!
