Calgary Police Service District 3 - North Haven

I am hoping to purchase a vintage trailer in the next few days. Wanted to ensure it wasn't stolen. The female officer who took my call was helpful, guided me to the CPIC website so I could sort all of this out. Saved me a trip to their office and provided a solution that was easy. Thank you for your help!

police useless they are not doing their jobs at all. a few years ago one day morning I found that my car parked on the street was stolen I reported to the police you know what they said to me? don't worry it's just joy ride when the thief finished the joy ride they will park the car somewhere and the people will report to us and we will call you and you go to pick up the car then done! ha ha ha !" small case let it go ya ? but you know small matter will become bigger! shame on you! when you take salary think about what you did."

On September 13, 2021, I was inside the station waiting inside their small lobby area with my mom and I found myself within ear-shot of an incident being reported at the police service counter in front of me. I don't normally make a habit out of listening to strangers' conversations but it's kinda impossible to avoid sometimes. Anyways, the officer at the counter was listening to a female victim describe a situation that he later determined was not a police matter" and that they are "unable to assist" her. Professional looking police station and at least one police officer at the desk was polite. Unfortunately, not the officer I was dealing with (an older fellow with white hair). When I went in to report a minor fender bender that I wasn't at fault for, mentioning that the other person failed to provide his insurance, he said basically I can't help you. Come back when have the info."Other aspects of the interaction left a bad taste in my mouth with regards to the professionalism of the officer in question. Unless I am doing something illegal

After reporting an accident that happened to me on Christmas Day, I felt I should share my experience with my fellow Calgarians.I was greeted at district 3 by an officer, Constable Edwards, who made me feel at ease right away with his proffessionalism and his approach to the job. It may have only been a routine accident, but he made me feel like it was an important part of his day, and gave me the feeling that I was being looked after.I thank you for your service today.

I have read several comments describing poor service in different police departments, including this one. My experience was on contrary a very positive one. Despite the fact that me reporting a collision was not necessary, the officer agreed to accept my report without talking me out of it. And while I was writing down my statement, Inhad a hard time concentrating on what I was doing, cause other officers were doing their job making everyone laugh. I was having a rough day and had great time at its end :-)The officer accepted my report, was polite, did everything quick and didn’t hesitate going outside to take a look at my car.Thank you officers, you made my day!

Went to this police station today to report a car collision at around 1 pm and it was locked even though the sign outside said it would be open until 4 pm on Sundays. We saw an officer outside of the station, so we asked him what phone number we should call to report a collision. He ended up giving us the non-emergency line instead of the correct number for this particular district.When we finally called the correct number, the officer on the phone had a terrible attitude and treated us like we didn't know anything. He would not let us report the incident and demanded we had proof of a quote from an auto body shop first. From my understanding, the typical procedure for reporting a car collision is to contact the police when the total damage to all the vehicles and property appears to be more than $2000, and THEN contact insurance and an auto body shop, as auto body shops are prohibited from making repairs of more than $2000 to a vehicle which does not have a damage sticker. We felt that the damage to the car was severe enough to report, which was why we drove all the way to the police station to report it on an extremely hot summer day. However, this officer's poor attitude on the phone made us disappointed in the Calgary Police Service. After we called our insurance company, we were advised to report the incident to police again. We wouldn't have to contact the police so many times if the officer just accepted our collision report the first time!

I'm not a huge fan of the Calgary Police as they do have a lot of problems but my interactions with the staff at this location have always been very pleasant. An organization can be flawed while still employing people that are happy to help you. I went in with a request for help with something I was pretty sure they wouldn't be able to help with. The officer I dealt with was very opposed to even hearing me out at first but after discussing the issue for a few minutes he warmed up to it and went beyond what I was hoping for to help. He even brought in a few other officers that were all initially reluctant to help but came around once they really understood what I was hoping to get from them. There's room for improvement but I'm guessing the 1-star reviews are from people that have a long history with the police and haven't figured out how to play nicely with people that may not have the same goals as you.

Expect to be treated poorly when you call looking for information. In the middle of a time when there is some serious talk about reform in the police, you would think that they might tell their officers to treat people with respect.
