Algonquin Cafe Food Truck
This review is part of my focus on small businesses series. The Algonquin Cafe and Deli is located just steps from the Muskoka river in Huntsville and offers takeout service and a sunny patio. The standout items here are the ribs and beans; a perfect balance of smoke and BBQ flavour. There's a nice variety of sandwiches and BBQ items on the menu, and the owner and staff are very friendly.

No lineup when we arrived at food truck, so service was pretty quick. Ordered 2 brisket sandwiches. One was ordered as a meal, so had to pay an additional 4.00 on top of 14.00 for one of the sandwiches to get the meal". Which the extra "meal" was some fries and a tiny cup of coleslaw. The meal did NOT include a drink. Had to also order that separately from "a meal".The brisket sandwich; nothing to write home about in regards to flavour or freshness

Extremely small rueben probably 1/4 the amount of meat that you would expect. Ribs were extremely dry. The fries were decent though.

Friendly staff, relatively quick service and tasty food. Our second visit. Halibut and chips was really good - thick cut halibut, proper chips (not frozen french fries) and good slaw.

This was literally the perfect food truck experience. No line-up - super friendly owner/operator - amazing food - beautiful setting.Added bonus, the kids were super distracted by the mother duck and ducklings swimming by which meant left overs!

Definitely nothing special. The smoked beans were mediocre at best. It's beans and sauce. The 2 small slices of brisket came out of a ziplock bag and went on the grill for 30 seconds. The bun was on it for longer, my brisket was about 1/2 the size of what they show in the picture on Google. Surprisingly, it wasn't all dried out, extra lean tho if you enjoy fat. Sandwich, small beans, extra small slaw with 15% tip, $25.55

Their fries and gravy are absolutely delicious! However, I’m a poutine connoisseur and I really wish they used cheese curds in their poutine, if they did it would be one of the best in the city! Staff was super friendly as well.
