Marten was really great to work with and Andrè his installer was very professional and did an amazing job installing our glass panels and handrails. The price was really affordable and the turn around was quick for the anodized coating. As a fellow tradesman quality is everything to me, and they did not disappoint.My wife was extremely happy with the finished product and loves our new railings. She is still giddy and showed her family as soon as it was completed. They were all amazed and said it looked beautiful.It definitely has made our house look more modern and elegant. We really are happy with the results and how accomodating Marten was with scheduling. We recently had a beautiful fence installed around our front porch by Tenmar. Working with Marten was an absolute delight. He answered the phone! He came over promptly, listened to our needs and had examples to show. Then he was able to give us a quote while he was standing right there. Although he said it would be two weeks to complete he was back with the fence within 10 days! Marten is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We are so happy with the result. I don’t have one positive thing to say about my experience with Marten. He promised there would be no issue getting glass to complete the job; 2-3 weeks he assured us. He deposited our cheque and literally disappeared for weeks. After weeks of hounding him the glass was finally installed 10 weeks later.They had to come back the next day to redo the entire job because none of the glass panels were lined up. He tried to blame it on our deck which I specifically asked about when he provided our quote and he assured me would not be an issue.They had to return two days later because the gate to the deck would not close. Marten had the audacity after talking me into the glass gate as opposed to other options to tell my spouse “this is why I don’t recommend glass gates.” Does he honestly think my spouse and I don’t communicate? The lock on the gate also does not work properly to this day.Prior to installing the glass he told us that our glass was the best quality he has ever seen. Five panels (of 15) were damaged upon installation (3 chipped, 1 scratched and another with a hairline crack). Either he was untruthful about inspecting the glass or about the quality. Deeply regret using this company.

We upgraded our deck this past summer with new glass railings, vinyl decking and a clear aluminum cover. Marten went through our options and came up with a price that was very competitive with quality products. We love our new space and use it regularly for entertaining. With our mild winter we have continue to use it still. Very happy and have referred his work to others.

Owner Marten provided a competitive bid for removal of existing deck materials and the installation of glass railings and Duradek floor covering. The firm professionally installed quantity products and completed the job within the promised timeline. I would hire Tenmar Contracting again in the future.

I have worked with Tenmar contracting on several projects and will certainly continue to do so! Marten is always on the ball with responding to my questions and his level of knowledge in the industry never ceases to amaze me. It takes a sharp team to tackle some of the projects that Tenmar Contracting take care of but they make it look easy.

Before reviewing this company I need to tell you a little history first. We wanted to replace the deck surface from deck wood to vinyl membrane and change the railings from top-mounted white aluminum to black side-mounted aluminum plus put in railings on two new sets of steps. When I first started this project this company was not listed on Google, otherwise I would have had Marten do the whole job. I got the vinyl membrane done within 3 months of looking for an installer, however finding a railing company that would actually show up and do the work took more than a year. After talking with 5 other companies that strung me along for a year, I did another Google search and Marten's company showed up. I called him and he actually answered the phone. He was busy right at that moment so he agreed to call me back later on that day, which he did. He agreed to come over a couple of days later to do an estimate (which he did). Unlike the first company that I talked with, Marten was able to give me the estimated cost before leaving my place on the same day. He explained that if I agreed with the price, I would pay 50% up front and the balance upon completion. He also told me that it would be a about a month before the railings would be installed...which was a better turnaround time than his competitors. His price was similar to the first quote that I got (where the company never came back to do the work) so I agreed and gave him the deposit. He phoned about 4 weeks later to start the installation - it was done over two days, and to say that we are happy is an understatement. My son who is anal and OCD is thrilled with the level of finish. This project was not an easy standard installation and may have been the reason that the other companies bailed. There was one stair railing that was manufactured incorrectly however I know that mistakes do happen and I believe the true character of a person is in how the mistake is handled. Marten advised me as soon as he noticed the error and made arrangements with the manufacturer to have it redone. I was told that the replacement would take about a week, and today Marten was here to install the last railing. Marten comes from a family that been involved in the construction type industry so his knowledge is greater than his years. He is a man of his word and has a great attention for detail. I would and do recommend this Company for aluminum railings, glass railings, whether they are for stairs or decks. He also does vinyl deck membranes however we had already had ours installed before we hired Marten for the railings. I forgot to mention that he suggested changing the small railings at our front door and side stairs which I had not thought of doing, but I agreed to do those as well. I am so glad that he suggested that as our front railing went from wobbly to very secure and not to mention that the updated look is very appealing.

We had Tenmar replace our aging wooden deck with a new Trex deck and glass rail system. It was a pleasure to deal with Marten in all regards. He was always available to answer his phone; his pricing was reasonable and he held to it. There were no unexpected add-on costs. Even more impressive was his commitment to his promises. He started when he said he would and completed when promised, in time for our scheduled deck party. The quality of work was exceptional – everything was straight, true and plumb. Joints were properly mitred and all planks well secured. The glass rail not only is very solid, but also looks wonderful. I have no hesitation in recommending Tenmar to other potential clients.
