Carolark The Canine Learning Centre

I've had the opportunity to bring my pup to Carolark for group classes and private lessons. This isn't my first pup but it has been awhile and i've had some unique (to me) challenges. Both Heather and Logan were awesome teachers, encouraging, patient and knowledgeable.

Amazing! Have done the Rally O class and loved it!!! Great instructors! Judy is very knowledgeable and her love of dogs is very obvious! Had an amazing time and I am planning on going back! I know it seems a bit pricey but honestly well worth it!

Amazing people and dog trainers. Both my dogs, Louis and Ella, have greatly benefited from Carolark's teachings.

We brought our Labrador retriever puppy here for the puppy kindergarten class. Overall it was a pretty good class and facility, but we've had better experience with our previous pups at different programs. The two main complaints that stick out in my mind are:1) Instructor spent way too much time talking and demo'ing instead of engaging the entire class. There were almost no group activities and I felt like I could of gotten the same effect from watching youtube videos most of the time.2) Absolutely WAY too treat focused for their training. Previous experiences focused more on positive reinforcement which is what I believe in. Also the instructor was using human food (hot dogs and cheese) as treats and never consulted me if this was ok. I did not appreciate this at all. Our pup is a lab which is very food driven, so once he learned that the trainer had these special treats - which we had not even introduced him too yet - he was no longer focused on anything but trying to acquire more cheese and hot dogs... even during the puppy play time. Our main goal was to socialize our pup during this class and these human food treats prevented that unfortunately.

I had such a horrible time at Carolark with Puppy Training. I have never owned a puppy, so I went to Carolark for classes. They made me feel horrible because my puppy wouldn’t sit nicely in the class. The WORST part was getting scolded for working while I was trying to train my puppy. I notified the trainer that I had to work during the day so I would crate my puppy for 4 hours a day. The trainer stopped the class and had the class raise their hands if they were working and then proceeded to shame me saying “if you want to properly train your dog, you have to commit at least 12 hours a day”. I am a single dog owner and that would not be possible. I never returned. It was horrible

Carolark offers well organized and very knowledgeable trainers. They promote the method of positive reinforcement using treats associated with a marker (clicker) for good behaviour. When the puppy does what is requsted the trainer presses on the clicker and rewards with a treat. This method is very effective and easy to replicate at home. We are happy with our experience so far and looking forward to the rest of the training sessions.

Very impressed with the knowledge and genuine caring to train that was exhibited by both Logan and Alanna. They are committed to helping my dog improve, and their knowledge, experience and expertise are evident in every class. But, perhaps most importantly, is how my dog progressed. And, that is where they had a most positive impact…..I have seen a definite improvement in Charley. And, for that, I am grateful and appreciative. So, why the four stars and not 5? Speaks to administration. But, that should not stop anyone in selecting Carolark as a training centre!

The staff were very helpful in identifying the type of training that we needed for our gigantic lab puppy. Private coaching seemed appropriate for us and we have have been fortunate to work with Logan. We came for training because we had done all we could to train our dog. Logan took the time to understand our concerns and to get to know our dog. With his help, we've seen a great deal of improvement in our dog's behaviour with each class. Logan has provided excellent tips and has followed up with helpful notes and links to video instruction. Thanks to Logan, we've had a very positive experience and we would recommend him highly!

Always great! I've trained a few dogs at Carolark and they are the best dog training school in the city. Very informative, very professional and they help you develop a strong bond between you and your 4-legged friends. I've recommended them to many dog lovers and will continue to do so.
