My wife and I visited the Ballard show home a few months ago and I can’t say enough about Ballard Fine Homes. We are looking to build a home and we have spoken and toured many show homes and Ballard by far has the nicest product and service team in my opinion. This will be our third house and we want it to be the final one and they have really bent over backwards to help us achieve that. We were recommended by friends and we can’t thank them enough.

Ballard Fine Homes has been an advertising client of Coast Outdoor Advertising for years. Their office and showroom is indicative of the quality they bring to their custom-built homes. They have an excellent reputation in the local business community and their staff is friendly and professional. We look forward to many more years of collaboration with their marketing team.

We purchased our first Ballard home in 2020 and we’re thrilled with the high quality of the home, turn-key and the professionalism of Don Ballard and his staff. In 2021 we decided to move and build our forever home. There was no question who we wanted to built this home, and that was of course Ballard Fine Homes. We were involved in every aspect from design start to completion. We would highly recommend Don Ballard and his team. Thank you Don, for our beautiful home!

Excellent quality, just finished a build with Ballard Fine Homes and the home is spectacular. Ran in to delays but it’s to be expected when dealing with the City of Courtenay and all the nonsense but the house itself if fantastic. Good quality builder with good quality trades. Very distinctive looking and west coast style homes, would absolutely build with Ballard again.

These are our replies to Ballard Fine Homes' claims against us after we wrote a review under my wife's name Giada describing our experience after buying one of their homes.- Ballard Fine Homes and our trades and staff have worked tirelessly for over 2 years trying to make these clients happy unfortunately with no success.Incorrect: We bought the house April 1, 2021 then moved in on June 30 2021.We allowed our new house to go through additional wear and tear so that Ballard Fine Homes could profit further from the use of it as their show home for an additional 3 full months as part of our contract. Since then they have had 1 ½ years to simply complete the terms of the sales contract and have not. I also discovered only recently that Ballard Fine Homes continued showing our house with the address on their website as a model of their homes. After we complained that they had no right to do this without our permission, they took it down.- The clients bought a finished show home that is absolutely beautiful.Incorrect: Half of the basement was unfinished.-We built a media room and invoiced the work at cost after they purchased.Incorrect: Ballard Fine Homes framed in 3 rooms and only drywalled but never trimmed out the windows or doors, painted or installed flooring. We were invoiced almost $10,000, so not at cost. We did all the rest of the work to complete the rooms without any help from Ballard Fine Homes.-We bought back their used appliances....and they got new fancy appliances at our cost and we installed them.Fact: After it was agreed with Ballard Fine Homes, they bought back only the dishwasher and the microwave that we never used and removed ourselves because they were builder models and we wanted something better. We kept the rest of the appliances. The claim that we got new appliances and at cost as well as installation is totally untrue because we bought our new dishwasher and microwave ourselves and I installed them without any help from Ballard Fine Homes.- We bought back their used lighting...and installed a custom lighting package.Fact: Ballard Fine homes did buy back some lights they used while the home was a show home. The claim that they installed a new custom lighting package is absolutely not true. We bought and installed the new lights ourselves without any help from Ballard Fine Homes. We have pictures and receipts to prove this.-And the list goes on and on.Fact: What list? We have a list too!-These clients have been abusive towards our staff, trades and the neighbours since the day they moved in.Incorrect: These are defamatory and false comments. We can prove otherwise with emails where Don Ballard and his then manager D.G. called us names. Also we have texts and audio recordings claiming construction delays for next door were our fault. In fact, the delays occurred at the direction of the RDN because the site preparation did not meet the development plan and flood mitigation standards.-They have slandered and defamed Ballard Fine Homes on every social media outlet and will not stop at anything.Incorrect: We only wrote a review on two closed Facebook sites without naming the builder. This is our first public website review.-They have slandered their real estate agent and office and lawyer.Incorrect: This is another baseless and undocumented defamatory accusation. We did none of this.-Ballard Fine Homes offered to buy the home back at full price, but they declined.Fact: Don Ballard talked about buying the house back during a verbal rant to me peppered with profanity. Selling back our house at cost to Don Ballard would have created a substantial loss for us due to the change in the market and cost incurred with the purchase of a new build home and move. It would have surely provided Don Ballard the means for a substantial profit. That would have not been a viable offer for us.At this time, we still have outstanding contract issues that Ballard Fine Homes is refusing to complete.

We had our custom home built with Ballard Homes and we love it! So much so that we are having our next home built with them! It was a great experience with beautiful results!

My husband and I had been looking over 2 years for property to build our retirement dream home. The listing came in on a Wednesday night, I decided to send an email directly to the developer, Don Ballard (Ballard Fine Homes) within an hour Mr. Ballard (Don) called us back and answered few questions regarding some custom work. We arranged with our realtor to see the property the next day, Mr. Ballard (Don) was also there to meet us, my husband and I found Mr. Ballard (Don) to be very friendly, personable and passionate about building us a custom home, Mr. Ballard (Don) also showed us the beautiful show home across the creek as an example of his workmanship, which we loved and duplicated many of the finishes.Mr. Ballard (Don) worked closely with us over the following weeks to change the original drawings of the house to suit the needs of our lifestyle to include many custom features and upgrades, Mr. Ballard (Don) and his team helped us work through all the possibilities to create our Dream home. Once the design was finalized the process got underway.My husband and I were able to travel many times during the building process to check the house progress, which was on track for possession date. We met many of the sub-contractors during our visits who were very professional, polite, friendly and always kept the project moving with no wasted time and leaving the space clean and tidy at the end of every day. Thanks to Matt for always being there on short notice for those extra little things. Rob and Paul, for your amazing electrical knowledge and suggestions. Fabian for the outstanding finishing touches. Jonathan for your infectious personality and amazing painting skills, inside and out. Eli, for your patience and understanding on our landscaping needs, the end product is amazing, you are so talented and creative. Trevor for our Concrete work and Thank you to all other contractors I apology I don’t recall your names.Being our 2nd time building a house, of course some things did not go as smooth as I might have ‘imagined’, BUT the Ballard Fine Home ‘Team’ was always there (Michelle – Thank you) to keep things on track, Mr. Ballard (Don) was never a text away if we needed something, he always texted or called us back or he stopped in for a personal one on one chat.From the sales/design at the start to the construction/quality control inspections the staff at Ballard Fine Homes have been outstanding. We are very pleased with our new custom home and the quality work. We would highly recommend Ballard Fine Homes to anyone interested in building their Dream home!Finally the attention to detail and workmanship shows in the final results.
