Amazing food and wonderful staff

Not very good - OK but not very good Canadian Chinese food.

New owner, new menu, great quantity for the price. Chinese and Western assorted food available. We order a dinner for 4 and walk away with a bag of leftovers that is enough for the next days lunch.

Pretty good Chinese food. Not the best I've had, but probably the best in this city. A family run business with attentive service. Food is priced per island standards, pretty high. Average dish will cost $15 to $20.

Food here was excellent. Had the chow mein; fried rice; dried boneless; ginger beef; prawns; chicken balls. Staff friendly. Inside rustic.

We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The exterior and interior of the restaurant leave something to be desired, but some of my best meals have been from the quintessential 'hole-in-the-wall' places, so we gave it a shot. Unfortunately, this won't be one of those restaurants. Service was prompt and personable, but the let down was the food. I ordered the small war wonton soup for $13.95. The soup was bland and contained chicken which was edible, but just wasn't the most appealing visually. I've had tastier wontons as well, and a couple of the wontons in the soup were 'off tasting'; not bad, just not a nice flavour. The price was high for the amount of food given, but some consideration must be given for the location of Haida Gwaii which leads to above average food costs. One of my dining companions had the same dish and made the same observations. My other two companions had chow mein dishes and both complained the noodles were burnt, which I agreed with after tasting the noodles. I would take a pass on this restaurant and find another one when in Queen Charlotte City.

Really decent food especially if you consider that all the fresh vegetables have to be shipped in. The server was working really hard and was very polite.

I know it was the end of the season but, COME ON people, we hit the last restaurant still open on a Monday night in September and the food even the special was terrible. We/I had the last glass of red wine. Close the doors please! Go back to Vancouver and be ready for a good season next year. So sorry we had to be the last of your customers.

Good food. However, washrooms have been smelly for decades. If the washrooms would be renovated, I'd give the place a 5/5...View superb.

Excellent service! First time travelling to Haida Gwaii with my girlfriends and was craving Asian cuisine. We ordered the hot & sour soup and beef & broccoli dish to share. Vegetables were fresh and meat was juicy and tasty. Especially loved the salt & pepper prawns! Have to say that the food was delicious and owner was super friendly and even recommended places to explore on the island and things to do. Will definitely visit again!
