My 1940's house had pine fingerblock parquet floors that had seen better days. The finish was worn through and peeling, was heavily scratched, and it had loose pieces. I knew parquet floors were delicate and I didn't want to rip them up or attempt restoring them myself and risk irreparable damage. I called Tyler who picked up and walked through what his process would be. He helped me decide to keep them the same color rather than adding stain. I also sent over measurements to obtain a quote. Pricing was definitely agreeable and way less than replacing the floor. When the date came, Tyler and Trevor prepped for dust and helped me move a few bulky furniture items. They had to use several screens (rather than sandpaper) to dig into the old oil finish and to remove light scratches. 10 passes with several screens later, and several rounds of vacuuming, and wetting the floor to open the grain, plus patching holes, and glueing loose pieces, they applied a water-based gym floor rated glossy finish. Two coats later and these floors absolutely shine like a mirror. They still have dents, scratches, insect holes in the natural wood, and lots of color variation, but due to the care the brothers took, these floors are restored to their former glory, plus decades of character to tell the story of the house. I'm so pleased with how they made me part of the process, taught me along the way what they were doing, and invited me downstairs to see each step. Tyler communicated everything to me in sophisticated detail and put in a really long day to make sure the floor was done correctly. He even came back the next day to help me move furniture and teach me how to care for the floors going forward. I could not be happier!
